I know that my title for this review is a bit odd, but it is the truth! I fond that standard bowls are a little too small for cans of "Chunky" or "Healthy Sensations" soup. In standard bowl the soup comes within 1/2" of the top which makes transporting a your steamy hot soup a bit hazardous. This is not a problem with the Pyrex Prepware 1-Quart bowl!

Other features that we like-

- Completely microwave safe
- Scratch resistant
- Well-made and strudy
- Classic design
- Pyrex means that they offer some level of shock resistance
- Great value.

While these bowls may not be your choice for a nice get together they work very well for lunch!

I use this bowl to serve instant noodles, or use it for soup with rice. It is the perfect size for this use.

My mother requested more of these bowls, so I bought them at her request. She likes them for leftovers because they are microwave safe and stack well with saucers as lids in the refrigerator. She likes the rimmed bowl because it is easier to grip.

I could only find 1-Quart Pyrex bowls combined with two other larger bowls at the local Meglo-Mart which I already had and rarely use. I needed a few more of these 1 quart bowls which I tend to use everyday for heating up lunch and dinner foods (and they work great as a "Jethro BoDean" cereal bowls as well! (Beverly Hillbillies). The rim on the bowl works well to both hold plastic wrap down tight and provide a "cool-enough" place to grab strait out of the microwave. I suspect the lip would be handy for mixing bowl purposes as well.

Durable, great for cooking, can go from fridge to microwave. I already have a 3-bowl set and find this size to be the most useful so I ordered some more of these 1-qt bowls.
I wish they made a smaller one, like pint size, I would buy it as well.

I already had a set of these bowls that I had gotten as a wedding gift 15 years ago and now with 7 kids, I find I needed more of them. I was excited to see Amazon had them for sale.

The bowls are a heavy glass and stand up to many years of mixing, baking, and cooking. They can even go in the oven. I highly recommend these bowls.

Amazon has this bowl available in a 3-piece set for $12.95 as of February 24, 2011. If you want the bowl, buy the set and get two other, bigger bowls with it for half the price.

I assumed when I ordered these that there would be four bowls to the set. Imagine my surprise when the charge was $25 for just one bowl! These are nice bowls but they're not that nice. I still think it was a pricing error, but could not convince the amazon.com representative so I returned them. Too bad, as I really like the bowls.

This is an excellent purchase. It's well balanced, strong, stacks easily in my cupboard. Goes in microwave or oven. Perfect for a small mixing job, or even to eat a big salad out of in front of the TV!
