Every kitchen ought to have Pyrex prepware. This kit is a good start, but I am willing to bet that you will be happier if you also purchase an extra (2.5 or 3qt) mixing bowl by Pyrex and some 4-oz Pyrex prepware bowls (for holding eggs, small quantities of pre-measured dry ingredients, garlic cloves, etc). Those little 4-oz bowls come in little packs of four.

The plastic measuring spoons are definitely the weak link here. They are lightweight, flimsy plastic construction. I threw them away instantly and replaced them with a nice set of measuring spoons by Oxo.

Also, these are liquid measuring cups. Dry measuring cups (by Oxo) will be a welcome addition.

Pyrex makes great products and while I am very happy with this set, I recommend getting those few extra items if you're interested in having a more complete set of tools at your disposal.

Despite its shortcomings, I think this set offers a terrific value-for-money. The folks at Amazon did a great job packaging it for safe transport. Everything arrived perfectly intact.

I LOVE THIS SET! I never realized how nice it would be to have so many measuring cups - I used to have one and just wash it in between each use when measuring ingredients for cookies (or whatever else I was cooking/baking). This saves me so much time! I use the cup, rinse it out, stick it in the dishwasher.

The bowls are great - I use mine for everything from serving chips in them, to microwaving soup, to mixing, to storing.. they are wonderful and the fact that they are seethrough is a great benefit. They also do well in the dishwasher, I've had my set for many years and they still look brand new.

The measuring spoons are ok. They work, and I stick them in the dishwasher too, but I don't like the keyring design (it's good for keeping track of all the spoons though!).

Overall, 5 stars. Can't beat this great deal - where else will you get a set this good for $25?

I'm getting ready for my own place and bought this because it was on sale. I like how there was almost everything that I need to start out for those first yet attempts at making something edible (hey, tastes good is the next step!).

I agree with another reviewer that you should get some smaller bowls to hold things after you measure them out and a set of measuring cups, too.

This set makes a great gift, too. HINT HINT!!! :c)

Before I bought this set, I read others' reviews and based on that I bought it. I love the measuring glass cups. I have one of a different brand and liquid always runs down the side when I'm trying to pour, but with these it doesn't. They work great! I would definitely suggest buying this set.

I had been looking for a pyrex pitcher 1 qt. size, couldn't find it. Finnaly found it at Amazon.com.

Well - It's Pyrex.. the brand that has been around for, and will last for, years. Sturdy - easy to clean.

When I bought my set of bowls and measuring cups I had to buy them separately, but they are the same items.

The bowls come in VERY handy for when I am using my microwave to first melt the butter, same with the glass cups. You just can't do that in the metal bowls and measuring cups. So, if you use your microwave, this is a must-have set. I use the largest bowl when making chocolate chip cookies!

If you buy this set, about all you will need is a mixer and a wooden spoon and you can be baking in no time. This also makes a very thoughtful wedding present!

I am a big fan of pyrex and was really excited to see such a diverse set for a pretty low price. However I am not at all thrilled with the glass measuring cups. All three of mine constantly spill when I'm trying to pour something out of it and into a bowl or container. It's like the mouth of cup is too small or something. Everytime I use them something spills out and onto the counters. I would have thought pyrex brand would have been much better.

I'm getting ready for my own place and bought this because it was on sale. The set arrive intact. I love Pyrex. It is very sturdy.
