A glass measuring cup like this four-cup model from Pyrex has the advantage of letting you see the ingredients you pour in, and lets you warm milk, for instance, in an oven or microwave before using in a recipe. Pyrex glass is non-porous, incredibly durable, and won't absorb food odors or stains. The open style handle makes nesting with other measuring cups or bowls easier.

This particular cup features dark blue markings in both metric (200 to 1,000 ml) and standard (up to 4 cups, or 32 ounces), with lines in dark blue. There are no markings below the one cup line, so you'll need other measuring cups for smaller amounts. Above one cup, increments are only in thirds, so you'll have to estimate if the recipe calls for 2-1/4 cups. With the pour spout, this measuring cup is especially useful for liquids. The description and picture indicate that the 4 cup measuring cup has blue lettering on it. We received it with red lettering. We contacted Amazon and was quickly shipped a replacement measuring cup...with red lettering again. If you are specifically looking for one with blue lettering this is not it.

I've used this to measure my milk then add the instant pudding and mix it directly in the measuring cup with the beater. I used it as a small mixing bowl. It's a great size. I like the handle 'cuz any size hand can hold this. If you are looking to measure in 1/4 cup increments, you need to get a smaller measuring cup like the 2 cup size. The purpose of this big size is for measuring in large quantiies. As for the quality of this product.......It's a pyrex. They last forever.

I love the 4 cup measuring cup. I found this product is ususally not carried in the dept. stores, unlike the 1 cup and the 8 cup, they were everywhere! I do alot of baking and I use it everytime.
