4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than expected
Given the price (compare it to other silicone spatulas), I was not expecting much from these spatulas. We have two other silicone spatulas that have metal handles and we use them all the time because they do not scratch non-stick pots, they are soft and great for scraping and heat resistant (we use them to saute onions all the time without problems). I figured these would...

.....I find that the regular square spatula is huge... you can't get anything out of a can or container with it, because it's too wide. I love the small spatula for that use, but it's already cracked (torn??) along the side after owning and using it for a couple of months. Another thing I noticed is that I have to be very diligent about keeping "gunk" out from between the silicone spatula and the handles.....where the two connect..... otherwise, stuff stays in the cracks. *blech*

Overall, I like being able to use them for things on the stove, and REALLY like the size of the small spatula, but I think I will try another brand next time.

I figured these would be a good way to add to the collection.

These spatulas are big. The head of the big one is 2.5" x 4". The length overall is maybe 14". I was a bit worried about the lexan (even though it is used for bulletproof glass) handles but they are thick and sturdy.

So why 4 stars instead of five? Two reasons: I find the size of the spatulas (mainly the handles) a bit too big and there is a little, slightly sharp piece that sticks out of the handle about 3/4 up the shaft. This is to prevent the spatula from sliding into a bowl if unattended but, for me, just makes the handle less comfortable (and how big a bowl do you need to lose a 14" spatula? maybe in a restaurant?)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Kitchen Tools, January 20, 2004
This review is from: Pyrex Professional Silicone Spatula Set (Kitchen)
I love these spatulas! And for the price, what could be better??
They're great quality and are soft, flexible scrapers that really do their job, without scratching surfaces, or breaking (I'm pretty hard on things, too). Their strong plastic handles are tough, yet flexible, and the silicone heads prove to be long-wearing. My favorite is the little one, but the big (not kidding! it's a big ol' bowl scraper) comes in handy for quickly cleaning out larger bowls. Not much left in those bowls after a quick sweep with these.
Baking Happiness! =)
I'm very very glad I bought them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Useful!, March 2, 2005
This review is from: Pyrex Professional Silicone Spatula Set (Kitchen)
This set is very useful. The smallest one was still a little too big for some uses, so for me, I purchased a mini Le Creuset spatula, also on Amazon. The midde spatula with the scope is the most useful of the set. I have not had the problem with stuff stuck in between the handle and the head. I toss them in the dishwasher and it seems to be fine for now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good but....., February 9, 2004

These are great for frying eggs. My husband was amazed that they did not melt into a puddle while making his sunny side up breakfast. I have to agree with the writer who thought the notch on the handle to be uncomfortable. It kinda digs into your hand and these will discolor in chili or spaghetti sauce. Just a warning. Overall they are good but if you can stretch to buy the Le Crueset then spend the extra $$.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scrape every last little drop of eggs out of your skillet, December 7, 2003

I'd been looking for some silicone spatulas and for the price of $7.99 for three, I thought I'd give it a shot.
I've used them for making cheesecakes and mostly importantly, for making omelettes and scrambled eggs. Using the smallest one of the set I was able to get ALL the egg off the sides, even around where the handle of the skillet bolts into the pan itself. Love.
Re: the plastic guard that keeps the spatula from falling into a mixing bowl - they don't bother me because I grip my utensils farther down on the neck. I agree they aren't necessary, but they do not annoy me either.
Inexpensive, dishwasher safe, and they work. What we all want.

3.0 out of 5 stars missing spatula, December 21, 2004

I'm sure my sister will enjoy these but both of us were expecting to receive all three spatulas advertised as the set, not just two. The medium sized one, probably the most often used, was missing from the package with no replacements available. A disappointment!

As other reviewers have mentioned, these spatulas get "gunk" in the cracks where the handles connect and they are not comfortable to hold for long.
