gotta get this,

I have 6 of these. Why? I used them for making individual pudding desserts, store leftovers that are just countless to name, I put my cereal in it to take to work and add milk to it later. I will put my leftover supper in it to take to work the next day and microwave at lunch. GOTTA TAKE THAT LID OFF BEFORE MICROWAVE. Cover with papertowel. Comes with lids that are airtight and will not leak if tipped over. Pyrex glass is what every home should have.

My wife and I love to take lunches to work in these dishes. They work great in the microwave--unlike the phony knockoffs from Anchor that you can get at Wal-Mart. Pyrex is the real deal. You can microwave the bowls and lids from a frozen state with no problems at all. Don't try that with the Anchor version of this bowl. The Anchor lids get all deformed in the microwave (even though they are supposedly microwavable). You cannot go wrong with Pyrex.

I must admit, I LOVE Pyrex. I generally do not like storing food in plastic containers so these are great. The Pyrex is sturdy, thick, resistant to chipping, etc. The lids are plastic so they fit snugly, keeping leftovers fresh and getting lunches to work unspilled. These come in a variety of sizes; I find the 2-cup ones good for leftovers and lunches. I also own some of the 1-cup ones and 4-cup ones.

Top quality for freezing and reusing multiple times; I used to use cheap plastic containers, and the microwave would invariably destroy them. These microwave well (although they can get hot). Also the perfect size for a single serving. I've got a freezer full of these things! Solid purchase that should last years! One further bit of advice: don't stack these without the tops on, as they aren't designed for that and will get stuck to each other. Very highly recommended!

The pyrex bowl is great for food storage. It keeps food fresh without a plastic taste. Easy to clean too.

Dumped all the plastic containers and went with glass. Easy to clean, store and use. Nice to be able to buy a product made by USA workers.

I've purchased over 20 of these in the past 4-5 years. They are indispensable because of their flexibility in being able to be used in the fridge, microwave and even to make pot pies in the oven. The 2-cup size is perfect for portion control. The lid doesn't warp or stain when used in the microwave so you can stop wasting wax paper. They are hard to destroy and I've dropped them many times into the sink from 1-2 feet or 4 feet all the way to the kitchen floor that has ceramic tile and they've survived. Plus they are cheap enough to replace or buy extras when your friends or family poach them from you.

The pyrex round containers are better than any other glass food storage. These are airtight unlike some cheaper brands.

I would have given these five stars, but they do not hold a full two cups! The USABLE volume is actually between 1.3 and 1.5 cups.
I tested one of these bowls in my own kitchen: the bowl began to overflow when it held 450 ml, which is just under two American cups. (I think that part of the problem is that the paper label is based in the metric system (2 cups = 500ml) while the number stamped on the bowl is based in the American system (2 cups = 470ml).) That all said: for me, 1.5 cups of chili or some such is just about right. Buy a set of these and fire-up your crockpot, and you'll be ready for days of hectic, grab-lunch-on-the-way-out-the-door, workday living!

After learning how bad plastic containers can be to your health, i got rid of all my plastics and bought these heavy duty glass containers. I freeze all my soups and meaty pasta sauces in these. Some thin glass containers could break/crack easily if you try to freeze and warm it up in microwave but these are tough and sturdy! love it, though kinda pricy
