I like the fact that I can put it in a microwave and it doesn't stain. I prefer rectangular containers because they use space in my rather small refrigerator more efficiently. I wish it was a little deeper with the width and length the same. When I bought it in February, Amazon didn't give its dimensions with the product description. Now (May 16, 2009) I'm editing my original review because Amazon says it is 12.2 x 8 x 5.8 inches. This is false; perhaps those are the dimensions of the box used for shipping. Embedded in the glass, it says "3 cup - 750 ml, 7 x 5 x 1.5 in", which is far smaller than Amazon says. Amazon's error on this makes me skeptical of dimensions on other Pyrex Storage Rectangular Dishes with Dark Blue Plastic Cover, which I would otherwise consider purchasing. I like the product in principle but knowing the actual dimensions is very important to me in deciding what to buy.

We're currently trying to replace all our plastic food storage containers and this was among our first purchases.

Love the rectangular shape and functionality (fridge storage, microwave, freezer). Terrific multipurpose (storage and serving as well as cooking).

And, yes, those lids can be tricky but they do fit.

Can't comment on how they hold up over the long-term as we've only had a few weeks. But we use them multiple times each day and consider them a great value for the price.

They're easy to stack and store, which is another bonus. And so much easier to clean up than icky plastic.

(FYI: Glass is heavier than plastic and if you hand wash, you do have to be a bit careful when handling soapy pieces. If you're used to dropping plastic containers, you'll need to pay more attention.)

These containers are the backbone of our leftover storage system. We use them mainly to create single serving meals from bulk meals and then freeze or refrigerate, and then straight to microwave if applicable. We started replacing all of of our plastics about 6 months ago during the BPA scare and these were the best buy. They are shallow enough to eat out of (think TV dinner size and depth) and are 3 cups, which is the perfect size for a meal. We are trying to avoid the disposable and these are perfect for storing all those odd flat items like lunch meats and even a slice of pizza which you might normally put in saran wrap, foil, or a ziploc bag. Also, they're perfect size and depth for sandwiches. Just a great all-around storage container and worth every penny considering its life expectancy.

Dish is great but description is all wrong. Based on the dimensions, this would be 39 cups not 3. It's a 3 quart dish and the dimensions are the shipping box. It's much smaller

I love pyrex! It's all I have in my kitchen. I really like this size to store meat (like pork chops) in. It's also a really nice size to bring your lunch to work in.

Pyrex storage dishes are always awesome because they're made of glass and super-sturdy, but this is the most perfect size.

Not only does it hold a perfect amount of food for a portable meal, it fits perfectly in a Hot Logic. (If you have one of these in your office, you know exactly how awesome it is for a glass container to fit!)

I love these containers. They are perfect for packing lunch for work. I can microwave in glass instead of plastic. When dinner is over I just put the leftovers in these containers and, because of the shape, I can put veggies, meat, starch or whatever and keep them separate. It fits perfectly in my insulated lunch bag. When I get home from work, it goes straight into the dishwasher. I had 3 of them and used them so much I bought 3 more.

I was looking for something that I could take my lunch to work so that I wouldn't have to carry so many containers, and this is the perfect size. It holds just the right amount for me, although I wouldn't use it for salads because as much as I love salad, this container wouldn't be big enough. I also wouldn't recommend putting liquids in it, unless you're sure that you can keep the container upright; otherwise, the liquid will leak out.

I, also, am trying to get away from using plastic containers in the microwave, and Pyrex (without the lids) are fantastic; they are easy to clean, don't hold odors, and I have no problems with the lid(s) not fitting. Pyrex gets a "thumbs-up" from me.

I'm trying to exchange all my plastic food storage to glass. I don't microwave in plastic, and you can't put plastic in the oven, so it just makes sense to me to store food in the same container you heat it in. I bought several shapes and sizes of these and I'm happy with them all. They go straight from freezer to refer or cold oven. Have not checked for leakage - just makes sense to keep them upright to me as I don't believe they are designed to be leakproof like Tupperware.

These are great for packing lunches. When putting away the leftovers from dinner I use these for the purfect portion for the next days lunch. They are also good to freeze future lunches that can be used as needed. Sure saves money not going out to lunch daily & much healthier. I own a dozen of these babies. Dishwaser safe & a lot better than plastic containers. Only the lid is plastic & can be taken off before microwaving. Glass is the way to go.
