The other reviews focus on the price rather than the item.

Regardless of price, Pyrex items kick butt. I use my Pyrex pieces for ALL storing - food, dog food, liquids, random things, etc. In regards to price, it is often cheaper to buy a storage "set" on sale from Amazon or at outlet stores. However, I definitely recommend Pyrex - the pieces are awesome, they don't hold odors or stains, and they last forever!

the bowl itself is pretty. but the cover is poorly made. don't expect too much for water tightness.

I own several sizes of these storage bowls and love them. They are sturdy, look good in the 'frig and on the table plus allow me to use them in the microwave without worrying about chemicals leeching into our food. The lids have been washed repeatedly in the top rack of our dishwasher and have held up well so far. Yes, they are spendier, but worth it. Also, I got mine during an Amazon special so managed to pay a more palatable amount.

Fine container for a while, but the rubber cover cracks after only a short duration of use. Does anyone know whee to get extra covers?

Great for freezing small portions,any item that would stain,in-bed its flavors into a plastic dish similar type.
Heats well in microwave,
In oven usage ,thaw fridge,add dish at preheat cycle.

The whole point of buying a Pyrex jar with a lid is because you want to store something and not let the air get to it. These products are not fit for purpose in this regard. Even if you treat the lids carefully and wash them by hand and do not subject them to heat they soon become useless as an air proof lid. We bought some silicone lids and these work well but it is annoying that we bought a unified product from Pyrex that does not do the job it was sold for.

We first purchased a package of several sizes of this style of bowl at Walmart, several years ago. We found it is superior to any plastic product for heating, then storing, and later reheating food. I consider it almost unbreakable, even though we have broken several by dropping over the last few years. Great for the microwave or oven. The lid fits tight and seems dishwasher safe in the top shelf. We purchased more than we need because we fear they will be discontinued, and/or the price will continue to rise. We love the produxct & this size.

Like many people, I am in the process of replacing my plastic with glass. The entire line of Pyrex storage is wonderful for this task. All pieces are very well made, and wash and wear very well.

I have found that the individual pieces are better than the sets, as the sets tend to have very small capacity containers. In less you are storing 3 olives or 4 carrots, a lot of the set sizes can go unused.

In contrast, the individual, larger sizes (4 cups and up) are excellent at accommodating everything from baked goods to fresh produce to the standard leftovers. Both round and rectangles are sleek and streamlined to fit effortlessly almost any place in the fridge. An excellent kitchen addition at an excellent price!

I ordered 2. They were received at the same time. One of them was perfectly fine but the other one's bottom was not flat and was curving inwards.
