5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoy this CD...you will too!
I've been into PYT ever since they released their first single "Something More Beautiful" back in 1999. I've kept up with the girls to some extent, and when i heard this CD, I was really impressed. They used to have the bubble-gum pop sound to them when they first came out, but since they've been together, their sound has gotten awesome. They sound a lot like...

2.0 out of 5 stars Another Girl Group
They have have pretty good voices and the harmony sounds pretty good...but they also sound like every other young girl group out there. The subject matter is kind of old. I think if they came out with more original lyrics/content they'd be more of a success.

They sound a lot like Destiny's Child, except that they harmonize a lot better than DC and their sound is better. Most of their songs aren't cheesy like a lot of the other pop groups, which is good. I really like the "Same Ol Same Ol" single, but when I heard the remixes featuring Sarai, the song sounded 1000 times more awesome! It makes me want to just stop what I'm doing and dance. It's pretty cool. Other songs that really stand out to me are "Yeah Yeah Yeah" (one of those awesome girls kick butt songs...I think it should be a hit), "Simple Things" (it sounds different), "You Don't Know" (it's really catchy to me), "Down With Me" (any PYT fan has got to love this one), and of course "Sweet Kisses" (which is a ballad but it sounds different from the typical pop ballad). If you remember the movie "Center Stage", the song called "A Girl Can Dream" that was on that movie is also on this CD. Those are only half of the great tracks on this album. It also comes with the "Down With Me" video and a hidden track that Sarai has done. I highly reccomend this CD. I'm not just saying it because I'm a PYT fan...It's truely a fun album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, December 30, 2004
This review is from: Pyt Down With Me (Audio CD)
In my opinion, PYT was one of the best girl groups of their time; they just didn't get enough publicity. I love this album! It's got a pretty nice range of styles within the pop/r&b realm. The lyrics and melodies are extremely well crafted and the girls' voices are amazing (especially Ashley's power-vocals). This album is so much fun to dance to, and it's pretty female-empowering (but I know a lot of guys who are fans too!). I just love it so much that 3 years later (though I've left Britney Spears and boy bands behind) I still pop in Down With Me and have a blast!

I really believe this CD is a must for fans of (pop)girl groups in general because the ladies of PYT are so talented and, since they've been dropped from Sony, we'll never have another record from them.
Happy listening!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING album! A little something for everyone!!!, August 11, 2001

This review is from: Pyt Down With Me (Audio CD)
This Album will BLOW you away! The girls of PYT are not only GORGEOUS but are AMAZINGLY talented! There is a little of everything in this album. For the people who lean more towards R&B/Hip Hop "Same Ol Same Ol (Remix Ft. Sarai)", "Weak", and "You Just Dont Know" will interest you. For the Ballad Lovers there is "Who's Loving Me", "Sweet Kisses, and "A Girl Can Dream" (My Favorite on the whole album). I also really like the hidden track "Its Official" by Sarai..it sounds like an Eve song. There is also the PYT video "Down With me" on it, and its a SUPER cool video. I cannot stop listening to this Album..and I garentee you wont be able to either. Deffinetly worth every dollar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually a decent girl group., October 8, 2001

This review is from: Pyt Down With Me (Audio CD)
Okay, when I first heard P.Y.T.'s single, "Same Ol', Same Ol'" I was thinking exactly what the title says. Then I listened to this album - it's actually really great! I'm a huge teen Pop fan, but I'm usually more into the Boy Bands rather than the girl groups. The only two girl groups I've liked so far are Destiny's Child and Dream. I can't stand 3LW and I think Eden's Crush is just okay. Oh yeah, and I liked the Spice Girls too, but they don't really count. Anyways, I listened to all the songs on this CD in a music store and really enjoyed it! The girls of P.Y.T. are young and fresh, with unqiue voices, styles, and hip Pop tunes. Although I've never heard them on the radio, I wish the radio would play their songs 'cause they deserve to be heard! My favorite songs off this album are: "Weak", "P.Y.T. (Down With Me)", "You Don't Know", "Sweet Kisses", "A Girl Can Dream On", and "Deep Down". This is a great debut CD for a new girl group that will surely make it big in the business. I know this is mostly Pop music, but what can you expect from a girl group? P.Y.T. (DOWN WITH ME) is a great album which I never thought I'd like but do now. Definitely go out and buy this album if you are looking for a great new girl group with talent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, Yeah, Yeah with PYT, December 18, 2001
This review is from: Pyt Down With Me (Audio CD)
only after a few months of their long awaited release of their debut album "down with me". the girls of PYT (which stands for Prove Yourself True) was dropped from label sony/epic. Instead of waiting to be picked up by another label. The girls decided to go their ways. Although, PYT might be gone. But they will always be unique. This is not some manufactured pop/r&b. PYT brings a different genre on their album. No bugglegum pop. Who's loving me - is probably the best song on the album. it's an accapella and it displays the girls vocal and melodic voices.
02. Same Ol' Same Ol' (feat. Sarai) - a remix of the original. Has a more hip-hop flow into it.
03. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah - a good song. sounds alot like "bills, Bills, Bills" & "No, No, No" by Destiny's Childs. But it's good.
04. Weak - not exactly my fave.
05. Simple Things - One of the slow songs on the album. It has all the members singing instead of the lead singer and backup vocals. very hot.
06. PYT (Down with me) - Not the best song on the album. But the cd extra of the video is tight.
07. I like the way (the kissing game) - ok.
08. Ain't no ifs ands or buts about it - - a remake of Hi-Five's hit. Not much singing. Just sound effects. Shouldn't be on the album.
09. Same Ol' Same Ol' (Sarai remix) - this has their label mate and up coming female rapper. Sarai raps on the version of Same Ol' Same Ol'. The girls was more like back up vocals.
10. You Don't Know - could have been better.

11. Sweet Kisses - one of the original songs on the supposedly 1999 debut album. Was on the Something More Beautiful single as a snippet. This song is alot more pop than the other songs on the album.
12. Call me anytime - This song is just beautiful. Very slow and has a good vibe to it.
13. Deep Down - not that great. could have been better.
14. A girl can dream - this was on the "Center Stage" sound track. it's alright.
15.Same Ol' Same Ol' - the original version. way better than the remixes.

this album would have been better if songs like: "Anywhere USA (from Bring It On), Down For Whatever, We're Dancing (Center Stage soundtrack)", and many others made the final cut. But since they were singed to a crappy label like Epic/Sony they really didn't have a choice. And the remix of Same Ol' Same Ol' was really not neccessary. If you like 3LW, Destiny's Child this is for you. But the sad thing is the other three girls really didn't get much singing. The lead singer Ashley did most of it. visit my site at pyt-fans.org

Corinne (New Port Richey, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pyt Down With Me (Audio CD)
Wow-Track one is acepella showing the girls aren't your average gril group off the bat you can hear how talented they are! The first single off the album "Same Ol Same Ol" is really hot and very catchy! Yeah Yeah Yeah, Weak, and You Don't Know are very catchy and could easily be hit singles too! The heart filled ballad "A Girl Can Dream" is featured on the Center Stage soundtrack and it jsut comes straight form the heart! Sweet Kisses and Deep Down are both sweet songs with a differnet feel to them that you can't help but love. The song that will be stuck in your head all day is the CDs cover song "Down with Me" written specially for the girls for their debut album def a HIT! So make sure you pick up this album because it is the hottest of the year!
