5.0 out of 5 stars The Dark Ages are Gone!
This is the most helpful product for any tank over 40 gallons, someone with back problems, or just those that are sick and tired of the water mess and buckets.

It's very well manufactured, even comes with a warranty, and it is soooo much easier to make a water change. Just hook it up, turn on your faucet and start syphoning. Also no mess when filling the tank...

2.0 out of 5 stars Plastic pump likes to break in exact same place
I was conflicted over giving the Python 2 or 3 stars- partly because it just broke in the same place for the third time running (so I've about had it)but conversely it has been the most helpful product I have purchased associated with the aquarium hobby. It will clean your gravel, save your back, and keep you from spilling water everywhere while draining and filling your...

It's very well manufactured, even comes with a warranty, and it is soooo much easier to make a water change. Just hook it up, turn on your faucet and start syphoning. Also no mess when filling the tank back up.

If the aquarium is located a little higher than the sink you're using it will continue to syphon by itself and you can turn off the faucet. Otherwise the ratio is 5gal tank water syphoned out per gallon out of the faucet, which could be a little wasteful with bigger tanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Python No Spill Clean and Fill 25 ft. Kit, January 15, 2007
This review is from: Python 25ft No Spill Clean & Fill Item #2514 25NS (Misc.)
I would give this product 10 stars, not 5. It's unbelievable how easy and enjoyable my fish tank maintanance become since I started using this kit. Not mentioning the quality of water and general appearance of the tank. Even algea bothers me much less since. I am always kind of sceptical when reading somebody else's product review, but never afraid to try something new myself. In this case it pays off 100% - very smart, efficient and convenient device, doesn't require much space for storage and easy to use. The price is affordable as well. Do not hesitate to buy it if you have pretty big fish tank - mine is 29 gallons. Along with using Emperor filter I do not have any tough time to keep my aquarium sparkling clean and my fish are healthy as never. Trust it and good luck!

This is my second NSPC&F after the first one, which lasted around 3 years of weekly use, succumbed to my punishment.

This siphon really does make a huge difference in changing the water in my 75 gallon tank -- what used to take an hour now takes 20-30 minutes. Plus, there's a LOT less mess than hauling buckets of water through the house.

This product is so helpful, it's ingenious. A simple vacuum/pump arrangement lets you suck water out of the aquarium and pump it back in without effort. I have a 29 gallon tank and only a 2 gallon bucket. Water changes used to take 30-40 minutes. Now, I can accomplish the same task in 10-15 minutes depending on the water pressure I use.

In contrast to the typical siphon gravel vac that comes with most aquarium kits, I find that the fish are less startled and less traumatized by the water changes using the Python. It also sucks up more waste than the siphon vac. As a new aquarist, this handy device has made tank maintenance very easy, thus helping me keep my enthusiasm for the hobby high. Looking forward to expanding to a 55g tank in the fall. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Python, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Python 25ft No Spill Clean & Fill Item #2514 25NS (Misc.)
I have 3 fish tanks, a 5 gallon, 10 gallon and a 75 gallon, so filling it up with buckets before always left me with a horribly sore back. Now the hardest part of changing my tanks is making sure the water is the right temperature =) I love the python! Anyone with a fish tank (or tanks) definatly needs one.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first time using the Python, October 20, 2007
This review is from: Python 25ft No Spill Clean & Fill Item #2514 25NS (Misc.)
After reading reviews about the Python and finaly reading about it on DrFosterSmith.com i bought one.All i can say is WOW,why didnt i buy this befor.I have a 55 gallon and a 30 gallon aquarium,i cleaned and refilled both in less time then the 30 took by it self.It isnt often you find a product that works so good that you can kick yourself in the butt because you didnt buy it sooner.I will admit, the reason i put off buying one befor was the price. But after buying it and using it,i cant believe how much work and time it saves.I would say its best for tanks over 20 gallons,it has a strong vacum and your water level drops pretty fast,my 30 dropped pretty quick compared to my old gravel vacs,so if your going to use it on a 20 or smaller, watch it closely. But its worth every penny, easy to hook up and use,no mess,no buckets,no heavy lifting, one year warranty,Python has plenty of replacement parts. In my opinion, its a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as Described, Excellent!, October 28, 2007
This review is from: Python 25ft No Spill Clean & Fill Item #2514 25NS (Misc.)
Before I buy an item like this I do alot of research. I read up about it on many different websites, check reviews, compare prices etc...
Everyone was saying The Python No Spill Kit was top of the line, works great, best purchase they made and so on. While many other similar cleaning kits didn't get as good reviews.
While let me tell you, I got this in the mail, hooked it up in 5 minutes (I take my time reading instructions), cleaned my 60 gallon tank, refilled it and put it away with no help in about 15 - 20 minutes total.
I was so surprised how easy and effective it was.
It really is as good as all the hype.
I had been cleaning my aquariums with a small syphon vac for years. Having to syphon to get water flowing, caring buckets of dirty water to the sink, making a mess and taking lots of time and often teamwork.
This Python Kit was so much better. The only thing which I didn't like was that the similar Lee's Ultimate Gravel Vac Kit had a "Fish-Saver Cleaning Claw" to help avoid siphoning fish, which the Python Kit did not have. No big deal really, just in case you were foolish enough to let one of our fish get sucked in theres a shut off valve right on the end and you can easily reverse the flow.
All in All this kit is excellent! Heavy duty, easy to set up and operate and there are plenty of replacement parts available should the need ever arise. The price is sometimes higher than other similar kits but it is well worth the investment. You definately get what you pay for.
I will probably be using this kit for the rest of my life because I plan on always keeping clean healthy fish.
PYTHON ROCKS!!

I used to stall and not do my aquarium's water changes as much as I should. Procrastination.

But this is GREAT, easy, fast and no more buckets splashing about.

GET IT!

4.0 out of 5 stars very convenient, wastes water, August 13, 2009
This review is from: Python 25ft No Spill Clean & Fill Item #2514 25NS (Misc.)
Works great, has a strong suction and fills the tank fast. Makes changing the water in our 45 gallon tank much more enjoyable and easier to do, not to mention it takes less then half as long as it used to with buckets.

The only gripes are with the faucet adaptor, and water wastage.

If you have a normal faucet you have to unscrew the faucet head and screw on the python adapter each time you use it. You can't just leave the adapter on because there is no aerator and screen, so the water comes blasting out all over the place if you open the faucet fully. You have to replace your normal faucet head after each use if you want normal water flow.

Half of the water that goes down the drain when you are sucking out the water from the tank is coming straight from the faucet in order to create the necessary suction. So it is a bit wasteful on water. I prefer to stick the end of the python outside in the trees and bushes and siphon the water the old fashion way.

For my usages it probably would have made more sense just to buy a hose attachment for the sink, but it is still a very convenient siphon and gravel vacuum, especially during bad weather etc.

This is a great product. I love it. The following are the reasons why I love it:
1. Retail price at Petco is $59.99. I paid about %40 less.
2. It is made in the U.S.A.
3. Its quality.
4. Easy to use.
5. I could store it anywhere.
6. I used it twice and had no problems so far.
7. It would take as twice as amount of time for getting the same job done if I were still using the pail.
