Product Description

Product Description

It's the ultimate word seek game! Players compete for high score by identifying words within the maze of letters on the board. As players identify words, they insert a colored peg in the hole of each letter used to form the word. Adjoining letters may be up, down, left, right, or diagonal. The letters must be joined in sequence, and may be used more than once within the same word. Letters have varying point values, and may be used a maximum of three times during the game. The first time a letter is used it counts as a single point value, and a green peg is inserted in the hole of the letter. The second time a letter is used, the point value is doubled and a yellow peg replaces the green peg. The third and final time a letter is used, the point value is tripled, and a red peg replaces the yellow peg. Once a letter has been used three times, it is expired and may not be used again for the remainder of the game. While playing the game, think of a stoplight - first play the green, then the yellow, and finally the red at which time play is stopped for that letter. Players at all skill levels will enjoy identifying words within the maze of letters. Players are sure to take advantage of each other's moves, and build on previous words to score premium points. They will enjoy non-stop fun as they show the other players just how creative they can be! Game comes with game board, 64 4-letter double-sided wood tiles, cloth storage pouch, 120 green pegs, 90 yellow pegs, 90 red pegs, plastic storage case, score pad, 2-minute sand timer, and illustrated game instructions. For 2 - 6 Players, Ages 8 and Up.

From the Manufacturer

Keesdrow is fun and challenging with a strong educational benefit for all who play. Few games offer the level of interaction between children and adults like Keesdrow. Unlike other word games, all players have access at all times to the entire game board and to all letters on the board. Double-sided tiles provide a new game each time Keesdrow is played. Easy to learn and play, yet will challenge even the most intellectual player, or one that thrives on strategizing several moves in advance. You will be sure to take advantage of each other’s moves, building on previously used letters to score extra points. Enjoy non-stop fun as you show other players just how creative you can be. This deluxe version has 64 Double-Sided Custom Hardwood Tiles, 310 Plastic Colored Pegs, Custom Peg Case, Instruction Manual with Color Illustrations, Two-Minute Timer, Score Pad, and a 12" Gameboard.

The game itself is challenging in that you can make the words as easy or hard as you want, depending on how competitive you are in getting a high score each play.

I would highly recommend this game for anyone of all ages who likes playing word games.

Find words in the grid of letters, making sure that each letter in the word is adjacent to the next letter. Use a letter once, twice, three times for bonus points, in this word or another one later. But watch out - after three times, that letter is red-lighted for the rest of the game. High score wins, and longer words are good, but that's not the only strategy to win.

When we first opened Keesdrow, I played with my teenager. She loved it so much, she stayed up half the night playing a solitaire version she made up. Later, we played with her little sister and friends... you never know who's going to win, and sometimes it pays to be the younger player with shorter words, but more lucrative use of letters!

The game board is never the same twice, and the hardwood tiles are sturdy and classy. We did run out of red-yellow-green pegs, but we were playing WAY past the instructions... this game is too much fun to quit when you've reached the end of the game, and there's always plenty of gameboard left.

Keesdrow is a great game, every time!

This game is a lot of fun! You can play it for just 10 minutes or you can play for hours. Our entire family loves it--ages 11 to 55. We have looked to purchae this game in stores since New Year's Day 2007 and have only been able to locate it online. The game would be on everyone's list if it was better promoted. It is a lot more fun than scrabble and it is very easy to learn how to play. You can't go wrong with owning this game.

Being a word game fanatic, my husband bought this game for me and I inturn bought it for my married daughter. Over the holidays our family really enjoyed playing the game. I would highly recommend this game for anyone of all ages who likes playing word games. I no longer have young children but think this would be a great educational game for grade school children, aiding in spelling and vocabulary.

This game is a favorite for game night. Everyone who has played it has ended up buying their own. You will be amazed at the words you and your children will come up with. I highly recommend this for family fun or school classrooms.

My 11 year old and I love playing games, including Scrabble. When I saw this and read the other reviews, I knew this was a game we had to try so bought it for a Christmas present. We love it! It is a well made, durable game. The 4-letter wooden squares are printed on both sides, so there are limitless possibilities of game boards. The pegs are sorted in a very sturdy plastic box, and everything is neatly stored in the game box. The game itself is challenging in that you can make the words as easy or hard as you want, depending on how competitive you are in getting a high score each play. I have been impressed many time over with the words that my child comes up with and the repeated use of the letters to get a high score. The only problem I had with our game was that the sand in the timer had escaped from the inner hourglass and was "swimming" around in the outer tube. (Nothing had leaked out into the game.) I called the number for Pywacket Games that was in the instruction booklet. They mailed me a new timer within a week. No hassle. This is definitely a game I would recommend for a family game night.

This is truly a wonderful toy. My six-years old daughter totally enjoys it even though she has not beaten me yet. This helps her spelling skills. While it is good to see her spell words correctly, it is perhaps even better when she tries to spell new words. I also use this game to help her with her math addition skills by making her the score keeper. She is becoming good at doing some pretty difficult additions in her heart. Knowing that this is such a good game and that it has won a few awards, I find it surprising that only a few online stores carry this game. I think Toysrus, Target and other stores should consider stocking this item.
