5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Classic Atari Fun
Despite what the other reviewer wrote above, Q*Bert DID come out for the Atari 2600, and was one of it's more popular games. Q*Bert has been ported to numerous systems, and perhaps the reviewer above was accidentally sent an Intellivison or Atari 5200 port.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is not what I thought
I thought this was for the old atari system 2600. When I got this game it did not fit in the system. Very disappointed. I used to love this game when I was a kid.

As it is, the 2600 version is obviously not the best version being that the graphics aren't as good as say, the NES version, however, if you're really wanting something fun to play alongside Ms. Pac Man, this game will keep you happy for hours. I recently rediscovered my love for old school Atari and this is one of my favorites.

Q-Bert truly is a classic title, at least for those familiar with the old-school games. What it lacked in graphics was made for in its deceptively simple gameplay. You just can't go wrong with Q-Bert!

4.0 out of 5 stars Old School Q Bert, June 22, 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Q Bert (Video Game)
i remember getting q bert for christmas with frogger one year...it brings back fond memories... Q bert that famous orange blob with the swearing problem was an instant hit..and the atari 2600 port of this game captures the spirit of the arcade game. the gameplay is fast, simple and challenging as well and most of all FUN.

ok,lets face it most of the 2600 games graphically or playability are hit or miss and can be considered a dinosaur compared with todays gaming technology ..but q bert is STILL a great game..although there have been many better looking ports over the years on various systems the 2600 version still holds up well..if your a retro gamer..its a no brainer...

it also works well with the atari 7800...when playing q bert..id advise using gaming pads instead of those hand aching 7800 sticks...a genesis or master system control pad works fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this game!!!, November 19, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Q Bert (Video Game)
This is for the Atari VCS (Video Computer System- Atari 2600). I love this game. It was hard to get use to. The graphics are decent...I mean well for the 2600. I had trouble figuring which way you can go and which way you can't. Luckily I can use my Genesis controller for easier use. But once you learn the directions you will get further. I got a score of 40K (thousand) and got the level that only toggles on and off. The whole point of the game is to get the pyramids one color. At first each block turns to one color and stays that color. Then you have to step on each block twice (you can tell which color it needs to be by what color font your score and lives are). The toggle level is every time you step on a square it changes to 1 of 2 colors making it into a puzzle game. I love it. I play it on my 7800 almost every night.
