Before installing, I layed out the components on a table, did the set up per the instruction manual and tested each item by simulating alarm. The main controller didn't dial the tel# for the alarm and still it won't dial the telephone #s. Except the main controller issue everything else is still functional. Instruction manual need to be revised for the battery sizes mentioned for the motion detector and the alarm unit - need to be "AAA" and not "AA".

Finally the main controller is able to store the telephone numbers and dialing it on alarm the way it is supposed to do. It is good home security alarm system for the price.

Very bad experience with the manual, the product, the technical sevice and the whole odeal. The manual is poorly written. The magnetic code controller was defective and the whole system doesn't work. The company made a serious mistake releasing this kit on the market. I made one by ordering it and installing. Amazon should pull it off the shelf and return it to Q-See. Now I am stuck with an over-priced item.

The main feature of the product - auto dial function does not work. Contacted q-see and they sent me a replacement. That one didn't work either. Called q-see again, they didn't believe that two kits were defective, so they set me up with a phone tech support appointment for Tuesday at 3:00 PM EST. Tech didn't call until Wednesday at 1:30 PM, he verified that the second kit was also defective. I sent it back to Amazon and I'm waiting for a refund.

The Main Control unit will not work with VOIP phone services. There is something wrong with it's timing of touch tone dialing that does not work with VOIP (according to their customer service). I've tried it on a T-Mobile's Home VOIP service and I tried it on a friend's Comcast VOIP service. I have not yet tried it on a normal landline.

So, definitely, do not buy this if you plan on installing it in a house with VOIP phone service.

I think the product is a lot of JUNK . I tried two of them and both did not preform this product should be removed from market

poor information to make it work... when i install the equipment, they no work on it... i think that have some trouble... when i put the batteries, 4 days after they blow up inside... all the acid go out the control panel... the siren make a noise thad is relaxant.... i hape that make a noise that i can't stay inside.... so desapointed... i don't shop againg... for that item, the price is hi...
