Good Study Aid,
By Michael Minn (New York City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: a+ Q & A (Paperback)
I just passed my A+ today using this and Jean Andrews "A+ in Depth", also from DTI Publishing. I found studying with this Q&A style put the information in memorable bites that were easier to remember than the huge streams of meandering prose in the Andrews book. Also, some of the questions were really close to the questions on the test. That being said, some of the content is a bit old and unnecessary as the test seemed to be oriented more around XP than legacy systems like 95 and NT - although there were NT related questions on the test. Lots of questions about laser printers, which this book covers. You shouldn't rely solely on this book for preparation, and I highly recommend you spend alot of time poking around on your XP box and becoming familiar with all the different menus, tabs, and utilities needed to change configuration settings on XP.

Too many errors,
By Nicholas J. Gilham (St. Louis, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: a+ Q & A (Paperback)
I bought this book yesterday. I am currently in chapter 3 and have already found 3 glaring errors. One question stated that there were three correct choices. The answer key only gave one answer. On another question, the explanation of the question stated the correct answer, but in the answer key, it gave the incorrect letter choice. This is the third A+ book I have purchased and the only one I'm not sure I can trust. |
