I would highly recommend this to anybody wanting to game in 1440p for cheap.

I did some general research on the 2710 monitors and decided it was a good risk to get the pixel density that I've been missing since the days of CRTs.

I ordered the monitor on a Sunday evening in Texas and somehow it arrives Tuesday morning from Korea!?!.

I bought this monitor through Amazon from BuyCheckStore when it had no reviews yet, so I felt like I was gambling. I did some general research on the 2710 monitors and decided it was a good risk to get the pixel density that I've been missing since the days of CRTs.
I'm not the most critical reviewer of monitors and I'm not using this for raw photo files or any other critical work like that. I use it mainly for watching video, gaming, and daily office type work.

Pros:
Screen real estate: 2560x1440
My model appears to be pixel perfect when looking at red, green, blue, white and black solid backgrounds.
My model has no backlight bleeding that I could notice in a darkened room.
I prefer the matte version that I ordered, and I don't notice any dimness or color issues that can be associated with matte finishes, and the darkened window glare is barely noticeable. I'm not sure what the difference between it and the glossy version, but I'm happy with how my choice turned out.
All the cords needed are included. Audio 1/8th" to 1/8th"; Dual link DVI with a cord that doesn't seem thin and cheap; power cord from monitor to the DC brick, then from the brick to 220V plug, and a small 220V to 110V converter.

Cons:
The power off indicator is a solid red light, rather than going dark (it's blue when on, and flashing blue when on but the PC is off).
The box said it uses 30W, the ad says 45W. Either is low enough for me, but there's a discrepancy.
Spec sheet says 8ms response time, the product box says 12ms, and one of the pictures provided advertises 6ms (GtoG). I don't know which one is correct.
The LCD panel seems to have some slack in the bezel frame. Since I'm not moving this around a lot, I'm not worried about it for my own use.

Ordered mid-day Monday, delivered mid day Wednesday. Amazing. I created five 2560x1440 png images in the free program "paint.net." One red, one green, one blue, one black, and one white. Then using windows slideshow feature I checked for back-light bleed, dead pixels, and color uniformity.

Zero dead pixels, no back-light bleed and the color uniformity is impressive to the human eye.

I don't have a hardware calibrator so I created a custom ICC profile using windows display calibrator app. With no OSD I wasn't able to adjust the contrast but out of the box it's better than my LG plasma TV and perhaps a bit better than the Dell IPS.

The anti-glare matte finish is better than my Dell IPS monitor. Much more subtle on the Qnix but every bit as efficacious.

Overclocked to 95Hz with automatic timings using Nvidia Control Panel. I have a modest Nvidia GTX 760 pushing the Qnix and the 1080p Dell IPS. In Battlefield 4 I can stay above 95 fps for the most part on Golmud with most graphics options set to medium.
95Hz is noticably better than 60Hz. I'll never game at 60Hz ever again. When I upgrade the GPU I'll try to reach a clock of 120Hz but for now I'm happy with 95Hz.

Viewing angles are every bit as good as my IPS panel.

The stand is notoriously awful but I knew that before I purchased it. Currently I have the monitor sitting atop a brick of 8.5" x 11" printer paper. I'm shopping for a VESA mount desktop stand to replace the factory one.

Another reviewer had a great idea. Instead of using the plug adapter just replace the cable leading up to the switching adapter. I'm sure I've got a cable (like you'd use to plug in a tower PC) laying around here somewhere.

Monitors panel type supposedly superior or newer version of the 3 panel types currently offered in the Korean Monitors. Do the research for full details. I may update this review w/ my extensive research and judgement of this panel in the near future- too much to list today. Stand is adequate at best. Firm but simple- only has tilt. Screen out of the box is slightly inferior in regards to brightness range and 'Wow" factor -w/o calibration compared to the Crossover 27QLEDP I had- less vibrant than that. However, the pixel density appears higher, and fine details are slightly more noticeable. I may be able to achieve near parity to the Crossover or even surpass it ...once I have some different calibration software- using the "X-Rite i1 Pro" calibration unit and software now. One apparent bonus for the panel I have over the Crossover I had is that I haven't experienced any eye fatigue due to brightness or contrast settings. The calibration software actually achieved near parity w/ the factory specs on one or two settings I think. COntrast level wasn't one of them though. Reports of better freeware software are in the wild. Initial Gut reaction is that this is a great value for apx. $320. Think my Crossover was about $420- but $100 or so of that was for the "P" versions awesome stand and cabinet. If I had it to do over again- I'd buy another Crossover- mainly for the out of the box image and the cabinet/stand quality and height adjustment. The Qnix actually may have less contrast problems than the Crossovers panel though. Special note: The company I ordered this from via Amazon has given extremely excellent service as far as responsiveness to my order. I ordered after midnight Pacific time on memorial day Monday in the USA, and got an email from them less than 3 hours later.Read more ›
