when i plugged it into the usb port, it immediately started shaking and making noises which is absolutely not within any regular operating range. i returned it, so i don't know if it is just a rare incident, or the manufacturer lacks basic quality control.

We purchased two of these readers to keep on hand for our computers at home and the office. Every once in a while a floppy is a great way to transport a file from another location. Our accountant still provides tax returns on a floppy and none of our laptops have floppy readers. This item is just a good thing to have around and it is very compact. We had no abnormal sounds out of it like the last review. Both of them worked perfectly.
