Customer Reviews

Often times, the keys stop working, too, but sometimes just the touchpad.

I use a PC hooked to a TV and this thing works perfect as a remote control for that.

Overall, the device is easy to use and works well with Android tablets/phones.

QQ-tech keyboard is 6 3/8" wide and 2 3/4" wide. It weighs 2.8 oz on my digital postal scale. Each key is 1/4" wide and 1/4" tall. This keyboard has individual keys made out of hard plastic. Despite the small size I found that my typing accuracy is pretty good, I have yet to hit a key I did not mean to strike. The keyboard has a very nice feedback: the click feels good and you hear it. I am using this keyboard with my Samsung Galaxy 7.7 tablet. I found that I type much faster using it than on screen keyboard, especially when I have to mix letters and numbers in the text. Pairing is remembered from previous sessions even when I turn off the keyboard and the device.

The touchpad is sensitive and responds well, however with the tablet's touch screen I find that it is easier to touch the screen rather than to use the touchpad on the keyboard. However for the use with non-touch screen devices I would use it with no issues.

I am attaching a video which shows pairing with my Samsung Galaxy 7.7 Android tablet and then typing some text. What is particularly nice is that some application do not display on screen keyboard, so you get the benefit of the entire screen containing the information without being covered by on screen keyboard. Some applications still display on screen keyboard even when the QQ-tech keyboard paired with the device, so it depends if the application developer anticipated bluetooth keyboard use or not.

I end the video showing the backlight function of the keyboard. It is turned on by hitting a key that looks like a yellow sun on the top row. As you see in the video this works really well.

I am also attaching a collage of two photos, which show the keyboard next to a ruler as well next to my finger for a size reference.

I've ordered and used 4 of these little wireless keyboards in the past year. The first one was an RF keyboard that came with its own USB RF connector. That was very handy as I didn't need to do anything special; however, the keyboard died after 6 months. I bought another RF keyboard, but this time it had a "pointer" style mouse which I did not like so I ordered this keyboard.

First of all, I was SHOCKED that the Blu-tooth range was this good. I can easily type from my kitchen with no missing keystrokes (about 30 ft, no walls). Compared the the two RF keyboards, that's in increase of ~ 10-15 feet.

Two downsides which I can live with:
1) If the keyboard sits a while the first keystroke will not register. I'm guessing the little guy wakes up on that first key, but I haven't tested extensively.
2) I had to purchase a blu-tooth USB adapter for another $7. I ordered the keyboard thinking it had everything I needed, but I was wrong. If your device already has blu-tooth, this isn't an issue for you. If you don't already have blu-tooth, then realize you'll need to go buy a little USB adapter (you can find them on ebay from china for $1 each or pay $7 from amazon like I did).

I purchased the item for use with my galaxy note 2.It paired with my phone quite easily. One of the first things i really noticed was its shape. It has a design much like a dual hand held game controler, very nice feel in the hands.Plus it has too "side" buttons, very convenient. It is lightweight yet seems sturdy enough to take a bit of punishment; mind you i havent tried! A visual inspection reveals indications of a manufactuerer who pays close attention to production tolerences. The two piece casing with all of its ergonomicaly angled edges appears flawless. The buttons were a bit stiff at first, and loud! With use they have loosened up and quieted down. The backlighting feature is usefull, unfortunatly the bluetooth connection light is malfunctioning. It does not shut off after connecting;a painfully bright blue light stays on continuesly. I have dulled it with a touch of magic marker, lest my eyes be continuesly drawn to the blinding bright blue light. And yeah it is that bright! The touchpad is the reason I purchased this thing over its competitors,it works well.It is one and a half inches by one and a half inches. But thats the meaning of "micro",small! It does however mean that ofton more than one "swipe" is nesessary to complete the action desired. The battery seems to be a good one judging by the length of time in between charges.Overall its worth the money, even with the bright blue light!!

One of the main obstacles to the wider adoption of "smart" TVs and entertainment center PCs is the lack of convenient and accessible user interface. The traditional remote controls are very limited in their capacity, the touch-screen input is obviously out of question, smartphone apps tend to be buggy and slow, and we are still some time away from a truly effective voice input. There are several good wireless keyboards on the market right now, but most of them tend to be too big and bulky for the intimate space of one's living room. This mini Bluetooth keyboard seems to be as close to the ideal solution as they come. Indeed, it has a lot going for it, but it's not entirely without its problems.

I've tested this keyboard with a couple of devices: Mac Mini and iPad. Pairing with both of those devices was smooth and quick. However, my Mac did not recognize the keyboard in its own right - I guess this is still a pretty obscure company and Apple doesn't have them listed in their system. Nonetheless, even though it was not "officially" recognized, my keyboard worked well with my Mac. Pairing it with the iPad, on the other hand, was even smoother and it didn't cause any issues.

The keyboard's layout follows more or less the standard QWERTY configuration. However, the keyboard includes both Mac OS as well as Windows specific keys. This causes the keyboard to feel a bit cluttered, but it still more or less works as advertised.

The trackpad on the right side of the keyboard is big and effective enough to use with just your thumb. Obviously, this keyboard is not very lefty-friendly, but even so it's not hard to get used to this mode of navigation with either thumb.
