Product Description

A whole year has passed. It’s October again… or is it?

As California teen, Arizona Darley, contemplates traveling back through the portal to seek out her dad, her life is plunged into a whirlwind ride through the unknown.

But this time, she doesn't disappear through the portal.

Has Arizona been kidnapped–again? Is Raj Sen to blame? Could Dillard have taken her?

As Kellan, David and her parents launch a frantic search with the help of the Wanderers, it becomes apparent that things are much more complex than they seem – for all of them. While investigating her daughter's latest disappearance, Olivia faces shocking revelations about the Wanderers and her life with Rupert.

In the meantime, what's happening in New Jersey? Are both of Arizona's worlds about to collide?

Quantum is the third book in the Portal Chronicles. Catch the start of Arizona’s adventures in Portal and Equilibrium.

This is a continuation of the Portal series. The saga continues and just gets better & better. We learn more about the Wanderers, and things get even more complicated. All kinds of surprises in this one, but in the end, we still have the original villain, Raj Sen, stirring the pot. This is classified as YA, but it's really good reading.

This review is from: QUANTUM (Portal Chronicles Book Three) (Kindle Edition)
I'd read and enjoyed the first two volumes of Imogen Rose's "Portal Chronicles" and was thrilled when she accepted my offer to be a beta reader for Quantum, the third book in the series. This is easily the best book of the series so far. While I think it would be possible for someone just starting to begin with EQUILIBRIUM (Portal Chronicles Book Two) if they hadn't already read PORTAL (Portal Chronicles) I would not advise starting with Quantum. This is because with each new volume Rose is expanding our knowledge of the world she has created. This volume, at least IMO, hits the point where knowledge of everyone's back story is needed to understand the full import of the continuing saga of Arizona and her family.

For those continuing their read of the Portal Chronicles, Quantum starts out with a significant revelation in the prologue and continues with lots of plot twists you'd have never guessed, but that make perfect sense when they happen. As you learn more about the history of the characters in the series and how they relate to each you gain a deeper understanding of them and care more and more about what is going to happen next. When you finish, just as with the prior two books, you're left with the satisfaction of a good story well told, yet are eager for the next in the series.

More About the Author

Imogen Rose is the author of the bestselling YA series, the Portal Chronicles. She was born in a small town in Sweden and moved to London in her twenties. After obtaining a PhD in immunology from Imperial College, she moved with her family to New Jersey, where she's been based for the past ten years.

For as long as she can remember, Imogen has dreamt stories. Stories that continued from night to night, from dream to dream. So, even as a child, going to bed was never an issue, just an anticipation of the story to come.

PORTAL, Imogen's first novel, would have remained in her imagination, to be shared only with her daughter, Lauren, had her eight-year-old not insisted that she write it down. In the course of a month, Imogen typed while Lauren waited eagerly by the printer for the pages to appear, and a novel took shape.

The warm reception PORTAL received encouraged her to continue with the story and the Portal Chronicles. Faustine is Imogen's first book in her new series, the Bonfire Chronicles. She has recently published INITIATION, the prequel to FAUSTINE.

Imogen is a self-confessed Hermès addict who enjoys shopping, traveling, watching movies and playing with her dog, Tallulah.
