Book Description

A sadistic killer roams the shadow world of undocumented aliens, and the first glimpse law enforcement has of him is when tough, dedicated female Border Patrol Agent Hunter Kincaid watches through binoculars as the killer shoots his own partner for being too slow, then crosses the Rio Grande into Mexico.

Two thousand miles away, South Florida Homicide Detectives John Quick and Randall Ishtee investigate the machete murder of an undocumented female, and a slender thread of evidence stretches all the way to West Texas.

John and Randall join forces with Hunter to track down the monster. What they don't know is that the killer is aware, and his focus is now on them, like a Great White as it speeds toward three unsuspecting swimmers.

5.0 out of 5 stars You riding with Kring? August 3, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
You're not getting my seat! And don't argue! I'm going through these pages with a man that has spent his lifetime protecting our vast North American borders.

A great read written from experience as previously stated. However, the twists and contrasts in this novel will easily keep your mind entertained as well. I went from a "No Country for Old Men" vibe to "Manhuter" (1986... my first introduction to the first Hannibal Lecter sagas) within two chapters!

Characters could have only come from someone who has trudged the turf.

No more.

A very visual read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quickly add this book to your collection February 5, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I was in need of a good story to get me back into the habit of reading, and "Quick" was just the tale I needed. It has the perfect mix of CSI type action, theatrical drama, and still screams originality.

Furthermore, I would thoroughly enjoy seeing this as a mini series or big budget feature. The descriptions of landscapes, and cities behind the characters seemed so real.Just a few pages into the story I was hooked, and transported into the story.

I highly recommend buying the book, and continuing the saga as I intend to.Worth more than a couple of reads! Keep a tab on this author, he's got the right stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars Human Traffickers: Lowest of the low August 30, 2013
By Susan
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I found "Quick" to be exciting and fast paced. It gives the reader a good understanding of the misery and danger encountered on the US-Mexico border by unsuspecting people when they enter the world of smugglers. I was able to identify easily with the books characters. The descriptions of places, people and conditions along the border were very accurate. I am certainly looking forward to further stories by this author. J.Clarida

5.0 out of 5 stars A gripping story from the very start. July 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
What do they say about writing about what you know? This is someone who's been there and done it, and got the T shirt to prove it.

Billy Kring has gone and written a thrilling story, based in part on his experiences as a border patrol agent on the Mexican border with the United States.

This story will grab you by the throat on the first page, and won't let go of you until the end.

I think we'll be reading more of Hunter Kincaid...

5.0 out of 5 stars Left me wanting more. April 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
QUICK was a smooth journey. The characters were interesting, the settings meshed together well, and the action rounded the story out nicely. Billy did a great job of bringing the reader into the setting without getting too bogged down in the description. I want to see more of Hunter Kincaid's character, as well as John and Randall. I want more.

5.0 out of 5 stars On the edge of my seat April 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story was so chillingly realistic that I had to stop part way through and look up what Amazon had to say about the author. Now I understand. Mr. Kring has lived what he writes about, and his knowledge of the subject shines through on every page. An exciting, informative read. Thanks for a great story.

Good read. Story of a former Border Patrol agent who saw too much death and destruction. Having had a family member in law enforcement, it was easy to relate.
