Book Description

Shelley Duncan bares all to tell the tale of her love affair with Gary Duncan of Quicksilver Messenger Service, one of San Francisco's premier rock and roll bands of the 60's. Most of it is very touching and unsettling at the same time. Shelley lived a real hippie lifestyle during those ten years. She clearly describes every detail and brings the reader into her life and leaves little to the imagination; this is a very sexy book.

I really enjoyed Shelley's book and highly recommend it to anyone wishing to view Life on the inside of an important rock and roll band during the heyday of the San Francisco Sound... (Review by Ron Cabral)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Gem November 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Fascinating insight into an era that most of us can just read about. Shelly Duncan has brought to life the thrills and the heartaches that she endured married to a rockstar during the hippie years in San Francisco. She offers her readers the true essence of being a flower child.

3.0 out of 5 stars I could smell the patchouli! October 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Since I was there in Merced and onto San Francisco in a different circle it was sun to relive those times. I think she did a decent
job on the background. Maybe a little whiny. But she left and that was a good thing.

1.0 out of 5 stars 60s Rock Musician Cheats on Wife! Wow!! July 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Did she have a particularly interesting life? No. Does the story give background to the creation of Quicksilver's music? No, hardly any music. Does it provide meaty anecdotes about other musicians on the SF scene? No, but there is a list of bands she kind of knew. Useless really. Try Rosie McGee's "Dancing with the Dead" which does all of the above

1.0 out of 5 stars Drab, predictable, Depressing June 22, 2013

I mean everything in life boiled down to what kind of Orgasm she had or didn't have. Jeez, refund please or at least, no sequel
