1.0 out of 5 stars Not Jewish Kabbalah
For anyone who cares to know, this book is written by a Christian and does not represent the Jewish understanding of Kabbalah. The publisher - Works of the Chariot - is also the "rabbi" of the "Church of YHVH."

Not Jewish, so in my mind it is not authentic Kabbalah either. He does his own translations and mixes in Judaic thought while condemning Jewish...

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! A must-read book!, October 25, 2001

This review is from: Qabalah : The Mystical Heritage of the Children of Abraham (Paperback)
In his new book, Qabalah, Daniel Feldman has made available for the first time a comprehensive record of the closed-door teachings of the Work of the Chariot Trust. In this landmark volume, Mr. Feldman initially examines all the mystical branches that emanated from Abraham and his children, and pursues some fundamental, if not controversial, questions. How was the religion of the ancient Hebrews different from Rabbinical Judaism? How are the Mystical Qabalah, Mystical Christianity, and Sufism related? How is the Mystical Qabalah different from the Religious and Magical Qabalah? Is it possible that the children of Abraham's concubines founded the Tanric tradition of northern India?

Qabalah answers these questions, and delineates many other connections between the Mystical Qabalah and all of the world's primary mystical traditions. Indeed, Mr. Feldman has produced and illustrated a totally comprehensive and comparative study of the Mystical Qabalah unlike anything this reviewer has ever seen. Dozens of the qabalistic diagrams in this book are not to be found in any other book on the subject. The treatment of the Tree of Life is unparalleled! Mr. Feldman gives the reader a thorough foundation on qabalistic meditation practices and then provides clear instructions on how to perform these practices in a manner that anyone can follow.

There are dozens of books on the Qabalah. Many of them leave you even more confused after you read them, and provide little information on what practices to engage in. So, if you've been searching for a single book that gives you the complete and genuine teachings of the Mystical Qabalah, plus meditation practices that you can understand and apply right away, look no further. Qabalah is the book you have been waiting for!

5.0 out of 5 stars Making it clear, spiritual and enjoyable, September 23, 2003
By
This review is from: Qabalah : The Mystical Heritage of the Children of Abraham (Paperback)
I have been on a spiritual path for nearly 30 years and have never found a book as clear, spiritually enriching and enjoyable. Also, it did a fantastic job at defining what needed to be defined and providing references to other resources where needed as well.

I have come back to spirituality with an open mind and the intuition that all great spiritual paths can ultimately be resolved to the ONE and this book drove it home for me. I can't recommend it enough. Also, be sure to visit the web site of the organization that helped to make this book come to life, as well as other truly spiritual sites like the Kabbalah Centre, and The Inner Dimension. We are truly blessed to have such resources at our finger tips in this day and age. Take care and peace to you all, Michael Hunt

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterful Treatise on the Qabalah for Modern Readers, March 14, 2003
By
This review is from: Qabalah : The Mystical Heritage of the Children of Abraham (Paperback)
Few books impart the depth of understanding and wisdom in a way that is accessible to the average reader as does Qabalah, The Mystical Heritage of the Children of Abraham.

I have read numerous books on the Qabalah, and have found many to be confusing or inconsistent. Daniel Feldman's book is a lucid account of his mentor's teachings that is universal in its tone. No one is excluded from this work and everyone is offered a place at the table. Any universal system such as the Qabalah should be available to all, and the yogi, Sufi, and Christian should all feel comfortable with this book.

Feldman shares this Western mystical tradition with the world in a way that respectfully removes the dogma of rabbinical Judaism, but maintains the purity of original teachings.

This book, just revised and updated (2003), is a must for anyone interested in the Jewish mystical approach to spirituality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working trees, February 19, 2007
This review is from: Qabalah : The Mystical Heritage of the Children of Abraham (Paperback)
Written by a student of an initiated qabalist called the mentor it gives working trees and practices from a Judaic perspective that are being used today. It embraces aspirants from other faiths such as Taoism, Sufism, and the Tantrics. They have a website called the Work of the Chariot.

Not Jewish, so in my mind it is not authentic Kabbalah either. He does his own translations and mixes in Judaic thought while condemning Jewish rabbis - who were Kabbalists, so how is that for ironic - with Islamic and Christian teachings and teachers.
