This was purchased for someone visiting Qatar, and it was informative yet small enough to carry around. A larger country map would have been helpful, but the map of Doha was detailed well enough.

This small booklet provides very useful informatiion for a visit to Qatar. It's one of the only visitor's guides available outside of Qatar and is a good supplement to the more comprehensive Marhaba information guides available within Qatar (and more portable!).

Qatar is growing a little too fast and the current edition is behind the times, in terms of structure and culture. I don't recall seeing the singing sands in the book, or the sink hole which is odd since they are two of the few permanent natural features of the place. Overall though, and for the price its not a bad starter guide and its compact so it doesn't take up much space, including the map was nice - but again I'm not sure its totally up to date. The larger visitor guide has a lot more information.
