Qigong is Chinese meditation in motion, an ancient healing art using posture, exercise, breathing, and concentration. This video shows you how to harness the power of
qi--the energy of the universe--to heal body and mind.
Qigong uses dynamic, gentle movements and meditative postures. The video starts with a warm-up of whole-body breathing. Then master instructor Ken Cohen teaches a selection of exercise sets to cleanse the body, recharge it with fresh
qi, circulate
qi where it is needed, and disperse stagnant areas. He also teaches a series of healing sounds and techniques of standing meditation and walking meditation, along with posture and self-massage. This is a fine introduction to
qigong, with many months of learning in this one 90-minute video. The setting is outdoors and seems Asian, with rocks, greenery, and a wooden bridge. Informational booklet included.

The Chinese Way of Meditation in Motion
In China, the way to vibrant health does not lead to the doctor's office; it is as close as the air we breathe. In Qigong: Traditional Chinese Exercises for Healing Body, Mind, and Spirit, you will learn ancient techniques for harnessing the massive power of qi--literally, the "vital breath," or energy of the universe. Thousands of years before the establishment of Western medicine, Chinese masters perfected a system of gentle movements and meditative postures that can channel qi into the body for detoxifying, energizing, and healing. Ken Cohen, preeminent qigong master in the West, presents these authentic practices in Qigong. Using easy-to-follow language and dozens of demonstrations, Ken Cohen shares a complete four-part workout you can practice any time you have a few minutes and enough room to stand and stretch. Simple to learn and elegant to practice, Qigong offers the perfect way to cultivate a peaceful spirit and healthy body, one breath at a time.
