This is a very dark album, probably the darkest - in retrospect - that Qntal has done. They combine sampled interviews with pessimistic gang members with a very grim tone overall. Qntal does its best to scare you.

If you like a good dark, Goth-medieval-industrial soundtrack for your nightmares, this a good one to pull out. But it's not light fare.

I love this CD, and it is great music. I especially enjoy "Palestinad(?)". Qntal is a cross between Engima and Dead Can Dance (at least on this CD). They mixed trance with medieval literature in a very nice and thought provoking and imaginative way. However, my one complaint is the track No. 10-- "Sine Nomine". It is apparently a song with a literal (and I quote here from the booklet) "non-translatable Satanic verse". As a Christian and as someone who went under a spiritual attack in her childhood, this disturbed me and kinda bummed me out. I understand the reason and context--how satanic acting some gang members can be-- but no one warned me or anyone else. I mean, how many Enya or Dead Can Dance songs contain Satanic verses? Either way, I enjoyed the CD despite the song (I whited out the words in the booklet, and made a separate CD without the no. 10 track). I would suggest that someone might download all the songs except no. 10 "Sine Nomine" if they want to avoid any problems religious/personal wise. Thanks.
