After my old Compaq laptop died, I decided I wanted something not only to get online and surf with, but also to play games. I also needed a laptop that had either a built-in firewire 1394 port, or an ExpressCard slot so I could add one. This laptop has both! It took me a while to find this one, because it is a slightly older model now, and all the replacements have neither a firewire OR an ExpressCard slot.
I've played Fallout New Vegas, as well as Skyrim on this laptop, both at ultra-high detail settings, and they both just look gorgeous, with no issues! I also used "PowerDirector" to transfer home videos off of my Sony DV Camcorder, and then edit the videos and produce them and/or burn to DVD. I also use Google SketchUp on this, and no matter now many objects are on the screen, it never slows down or has any issues.
My only "complaints" about this laptop are the size of the power brick (it is huge) and the red highlights on the case. But those are just personal taste quibbles.
I have had the laptop over a month now, and used it extensively over the holidays. Zero problems, and I am very happy with my purchase.
If you have no need of firewire and/or ExpressCard slots, then I'm sure one of the replacements for this model would be excellent as well.
