4.0 out of 5 stars A Steele of a Deal, November 23, 2008
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
What can happen on a sensuously beautiful Egyptian night when a Steele meets a Westmoreland during a discreet yet sizzling stroll? TRIPLETS!!! I have been waiting for the day one of Brenda Jackson's strong heros, or determined heroines crossed over combining more strong, intelligent, honorable, loving and very sexy family members. The possibilities are endless.

As an avid Westmoreland fan I've been waiting for Quade's story especially with the mystery that surrounds him. Knowing his work within the government is highly secretive kept me wondering what he did exactly and what kind of woman would capture his heart. From the moment Quade felt the possibility his passionate night with Cheyenne resulted in her being pregnant with his child, like other missions before Quade was intent to make the end result successful with Cheyenne not merely being the mother of his child but his wife.

Opening the door to find Quade standing before her may have shocked Cheyenne but Ms. Steele isn't about to accept a proposal based on obligation. However, when she disclosed he was not the father of her baby...but babies someone should have warned her that Quade Westmoreland would become even more unwavering in making sure his children grew up with him as a very much present part of their lives.

The story is fast paced and the chemistry between Quade and Cheyenne remains hot as the Egyptian sun. Both tried to deny love was the reason they were still more than attacted to one another after months of separation but in the end they both gave into their hearts for more than the babies sake....and if Quade's prediction is right they may need a bigger nursery. Loved it Brenda, I give it 4.5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Quade's Babies/ Brenda Jackson, November 23, 2008
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) I loved this book. The joining of the Westmoreland and Steele families was handle very nicely. Considering so much testosterone floating around I just knew Cheyenne's overprotective cousins were going to give Quade a hard time. It was refreshing how they worked that out. And those wonderful babies. What's not too love?

I would definitely recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bummer. Brenda can do better, December 14, 2008
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
Oh boy. Where do I begin? I love romance novels and I have loved most of Brenda Jackson's books, but this one is ridiculous. It was a nonstory turned into a story. Cheyenne meets Quade, they sleep together and he never sees her again and doesn't even know her last name. 10 months later he sees her pregnant in a magazine. She is supposed to be a supermodel, for goodness sake and he's supposed to be a secret service agent who doesn't keep up with popular culture? He counts back and thinks her baby must be his. The majority of the book takes place in 24 hours - bad idea. How can characters grow to love each other in 24 hrs? Quade comes to her house, asks if he is the father, she gives him some dumb response about it being complicated because 'she didn't have his baby, she had his babies. How is that complicated? Overnight he is wonder dad. He demands the children have his name, he demands she marry him and when he senses Cheyenne is tired, he demands she sleeps. Of course, at this point, she has gone from independent, gonna-raise-my-babies-on-my-own supermodel to a subservient, emotionally weak shadow of her former self. I guess I feel this story was rushed and poorly thought out. Oh yeah, since I'm already complaining, let me say that in all these beautiful people stories, I'm tired of everyone being important hard working people, who are always at the top of their fields; but always find the time to drop everything when anyone has a sniffle. Seriously just skip this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars not that fantastic, December 15, 2008
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
Okay, sometimes, I can't always give a 5 star to a Brenda Jackson book. Although I enjoyed the fact that she has hooked up a Steele with a Westmoreland. I thought it was a little boring with those two. Yes, the passion was there but I still didn't feel any love between those two. Also with the babies, I thought they both made pretty good first time parents but I think Brenda could've gone into more depth with that story. It just seems as if she made the baby get sick, it's in the hospital they get married, and the book is done. Bren, it's like you left a lot out. See, that's why I don't really like Silouette Desire books because it's like the stories are rushed and you don't get a lot out of it. The characters fall in love too quick and get married within days of knowing each other.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, December 11, 2008
By
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I usually enjoy Ms. Jackson's books, but this was lacking. The book is a little over 170 pages. The first 140 take place within a 24 hour period when they mostly relive what happened one night over 10 months ago! The remaining 30 pages couldn't possibly have a read-worthy story. It would have been nice if the emergency happened near the beginning of the book while both Quade and Cheyenne learned how to be parents and share parenting duties.

Sure they slept together--one night--and have been mentioned (peripherally) in her other books, but there was no character development. Seriously, who in their right mind thinks they can handle 8-week old triplets by themselves?! And then want to take them to Jamaica where her family would not be close by?! Cheyenne was so independent that she was annoying. And if both Quade and Cheyenne worked for government agencies (unbeknownst to each other) and can't get the other out of the minds after one night, surely they would have some kind of way to find the other person. Not to mention the fact that if Cheyenne is this lucrative international model, shouldn't Quade have recognized her long before he saw her on the cover of a magazine?

I appreciate that these are two characters that we've been wanting to get to know better, but the story was not there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Westmorelands and Steeles under one cover. YES!, November 21, 2008

This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
As with all of Brenda's books, I haven't read one that I didn't like. I read Quade's Babies in one sitting. It was a fast read and one that I did not want to put down. QB's brought about the coming together of two powerful families in Ms Jackson's line. The Westmorelands and the Steeles, and what a coming together it was.
Quade was just arrogant enough to make any woman fall for him. Anyone familiar with the Westmorelands, know they have a history of love at first sight. Sometimes it may not be love but an attraction they refuse to admit is love. With Quade and Cheyenne the physical attraction was mutual and resulted in the birth of triplets. To Quade, marrying Cheyenne wasn't about love but obligation and honor, to his family name and now to his children. Cheyenne refuses to marry for anything less than love, but Quade was determined to give his triplets and Cheyenne his name. You have to read the book to see who gets their way in the end.

Who cares whether the medical facts concerning multiple births was accurate? Not me.
For the record, it is FICTION. If you want reality, read a newspaper, watch your local news. True Brenda Jackson fans will not be disappointed. Buy the book! I bought two.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, August 27, 2009
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I miss the old Brenda Jackson whose books you couldn't waited to read and once you had it you couldn't put it down. Her last couple books have been very much rope. (She forgotten about her audience and turning out book to please her publisher and deadline.) I was expecting a better character development and plot with the uniting of Westmoreland and Steel. It never happened. :( I hope she gets back to writing books with great plot and stories line even it mean a fewer less books a year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quick read for enjoyment, November 24, 2008
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read the ebook in October and finish it in 2 hours. I think is was a sweet cute story regarding the Westmoreland. I wish Desire would make the story longer but i think Mrs. Jackson did a great job.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want Quades Babies!!!!, November 24, 2008
This review is from: Quade's Babies (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I eagerly anticipated Quade's story and of course I was not disappointed, QB was great as usual, As Quade has been popping in and out of Westmoreland stories since the first one, I wanted to know who was this man, and what type of woman would be able to handle him. And in true Brenda Jackson fashion she brought in the most spirited of the Steele women, Cheyenne Steele. It was a great combination. The chemistry was on point from the jump. I loved it!!! finished it in a matter of hours-of course, and anticipating the fall of the last Westmoreland-Reggie!!
As for the multiple birth issue-really who cares. And if that was the only problem with the book, from one who has adored all of the rest of BJ books then clearly "Riding the Storm", "Taming Clint Westmoreland", "Cole's Hot Pursuit" and "Seduction Westmoreland Style" were also problems because the characters are either products of multiple births or have produced multiple births and they clearly came from the father side of the family. It really is FICTION !! Any way loved it!!!!!
