Past, Present, Future Music!,
By Conduct (Oakland, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quadron (Audio CD)
I admit, I previewed the album on Amazon and simply thought "not bad" and never gave them a second thought. Not until their US tour stopped in Oakland for a insanely low ticket price, so my Wife and I went to the concert and was blown away by what we heard. Set up was simple, a laptop, bass player, congo player and Soulful Songbird vocalist by the name of CoCo. For a split second I thought she might be lip syncing, she sounded so good over the run of the mill club venue mics/acoustics.
How could such a new group sound so refined live, with such a simple set up? We copped the album and been bumpin it non-stop since!!! CoCo vocal stylings are really a treat for the mind and the music takes you threw the wheel of human emotions. Timeless music!

Out of Denmark onto the grounds of UCLA May 30, 2010 comes pure deep house bliss. I'v only heard a few cuts off the cd and I'm already in heaven. If you love beautiful sophisticated soul music with strings and vocals to die for..then Quadron is definately for you. Jay Denes producer of Naked Music fame is probably melting as he listens to this masterpiece.

Eargasmic Bliss,

Quadron,
What more can i say but this album is pure Eargasmic Bliss, from the opening track to the closing. In todays world of "popular music" its hard to find something or rather artists that you can find belief n comfort in. LEts start off by the production of Robin Hannibal ( member of the Boom Clap Bachelors) his production and sound are uncanny, he can take u to bliss to melancholy in beats n tone and when CoCo provides her sweet n tender voice, you get a true sense of honesty in the lyrics n stories she tells. The first song i ever heard was "Day," it reminded me of Amel larrieux and i immediatley scoured for more information online as to who Quadron was. I seem to fall in love with a different track each week...From "Day" to "tone" to "unpatience" to "Herfra Hvor Vi Står" ( i really wish i understood dannish language... this song truly gives me the chills i guess also im drawn back to the scene in the closing of Se Min Kjole, Coco's voice's breaks my heart n a beautiful way) I was first turned on to Quadron, September 2009, and instantly began to tell friends and music lovers to look out for them. My love for them grew and extended to a good friend and DJ of the local KCRW indie station here in Los Angeles, felt them too. So much that he began putting them in rotation and as it grew so did the bands overall popularirty amongst other DJ's of the station within their programming. Quadron has only continued to build a stronger fan base and i am very much excited to see them make their US debut @ ZANZIBAR (Santa monica, CA) this April 14th 2010. On Another note Quadron's album provided the backdrop/soundtrack to the critically acclaimed indie film "Se Min Kjole" (2009) Music is My Universe and I am proud to say Quadron makes a definitive ingredient to the the Soundtrack to My life.

I ran across this album on Amazon sometime ago, gave a few samples a listen, and added it to my wish list, then forgot about it. It popped up again on my "Get yourself a little something" notification so I went back for another listen, couldn't resist the great price, and downloaded it. I waited way too long to do this! I should have been enjoying Quadron months ago! Describing this group and the sultry vocals of lead singer Coco is difficult, so just give it a listen for yourself. Jazzy and Sexy come to mind, but it's an overall liberating sound, I think. It certainly isn't rock n roll, but it beats so much of what is being offered commercially these days. Highly recommended. -Mike H.

THis entire album is a great listen. Saw them open for Raphael Saadiq this year (2011) and they are fantastic live as well. I would highly recommend anyone to purchase their music.

Dat Sol,

I just randomly stumbled onto this album and decided to give it a listen because I was bored. I couldn't have been any more rewarded. This fantastic electric soul album is easily the best i've heard in the genre in years. I never thought i'd ever hear anybody take Jazzanova and smack em upside their head. No other group makes a sound that feels so genuine. That feels so smooth. It flows effortlessly from track to track with deep, layered beats and Coco's wispy voice floating over top. You just couldn't possibly describe a better soul sound. Especially in the modern era of this genre.
