Quail, February 15, 2001
This review is from: Quail: Their Breeding and Management (Hardcover)
Quail "Their Breeding and Management", Their Breeds is a great title, but the management part, maybe that part of the book could use a little help. If you are looking for a book, to learn about all the different types of Quail. Maybe, get some fun fact about a few of the stranger breeds. Then this book is great for you. It has a lot of nice references, but a lot our very outdated, most are from the late 1970s. I guess the WPA just has not had the time to update their current records. The picture in this book are wonderful. And we know how everyone loves good photographs!
This all flows very well, but once you get to the last few chapters on "Breeding Requirements" the information just well gets blah. It's tell you general rules, mostly just the way to do it by the book. No real stories on if this really works, or what to do if things are a little different.
Overall, if this is going to be your first book on quail, or if you want some good information on all the different breeds of Quail this book is for you! But, if you are just looking for something on the typical breeding Quail like Bobwhite, or Coturnix then maybe you should add this to you library later.
