When run on today's high-spec PCs with large monitors, you just cannot beat Quake III for instant gratification, stress relief, and good fun. Expensive for being as old as it is, but for a reason. The mods are unbelievable. YOU MUST BRING OVER FRIENDS and run a LAN game!
The detail of the models still astounds me...

Quake 3, one game that revolutionized the industry, I can't begin to say where PC gaming or even gaming in general would be with out it. So many other games and concepts are influenced and based on this engine and style of play. All in all, a wonderful game to have in any collection.

Awesome game, awesome price! Quake 3 Arena and Team Arena are so much fun. Great single player action, and you can play online with a friend anytime you want. This game is way better and faster than Quake 4 is. I highly recommened you download x-fire to see where all your online friends are too, great thing to have and free. LOVE QUAKE...Addicted forever!!!!

i enjoy the quake series quite a bit. i love the arena style first-person shooters so this was a natural choice for me. graphics are bit shaky depending on your unit, but overall good fun for hours.
