I used these to childproof a large bookcase in my living room, and they seem to do the job--after installing them, I tugged on the bookcase and they held up fine, although I didn't put my full weight into it. They feel much more heavy-duty than some of the straps sold at baby stores. My only gripe is that the advertised fact that they do not require drilling holes into furniture is a bit misleading, although technically true, because you still have to damage the furniture. They are mounted with a very permanent adhesive--the manual actually states, "the straps are now a permanent part of your furniture". Therefore, I would recommend these only for very tall items, where heavy duty straps are needed but cannot be seen easily.

Reviewed many furniture straps before I found these. Meant for earthquakes but also wonderful for active toddlers! We had an unstable shelving unit that frightened me every time our daughter even breathed on it. These straps are wonderful. Took about 15 minutes (and a drill) to attach to wall and seconds to attach to furniture. Lots of color choices available. The oak matched perfectly. Now the shelves DO NOT MOVE, not when I clean, not when our toddler walks by, not when she's pulled on it. I'm sure they'd be standing after an earthquake too! Purchased another pair in white for a bookcase because I was so impressed.

We put this on a dresser in our infant daughter's room. As long as you have a stud finder and a drill the install is pretty straightforward. It hasn't been stress tested by our daughter climbing on it, but I think it should hold fine.
