I have used many products over 35 years to keep statues and other antiques and collectibles in place and stable when they are on table tops. Most are some sort of clay material you make into the size you want and then glop it onto the surfaces and hope it works and also doesn't show.
When I got this and used it, the only thing I think they really skimped on is a solid, long lasting "instrument" with which to scrape the wax material off and out of the container. They give you a thin little "shim" of wood which would have been better off if it were thicker and Popsicle stick like. My little scraper broke in about two days or less of use. I have my own ways now of shaving off the material without worrying about splinters. This material is good, abit harder than I would prefer, and not quite as pliable even after one "warms it up" by their hand temperature. But it does work well at attaching to things, and I like the fact that it is relatively clear. I have used it on wood, porcelain, metal and glazed pottery. So far it works very well. My only fault on it is they should include either a short, fat Popsicle like stick, or another utensil made of sharp but thick hard plastic, which would do the scraping well and not break.

We used this to hold ceramic art in place at my daughter's show at an outdoor art festival. It also held price tags on the artwork and kept lids from falling off when the items were picked up. Wonderful! And it rubs right off when you're done. We discovered it from our friends who have a yacht and they keep decor items in place while the boat is crossing the sea.

I USED THIS MUSEUM WAX AT AN ART SHOW ON THE BOARDWALK AT VIRGINIA BEACH RECENTLY. MY HUSBAND IS A WOOD TURNER, AND NEEDED SOMETHING THAT WOULD HOLD HIS PIECES IN PLACE. WE HAD UNEXPECTED WIND GUSTS OF 30+MPH. WE DID NOT LOSE A SINGLE PIECE. IT WAS ALSO OVER 100* THAT SAME DAY. THE WAX HELD EVEN WITH THE STRONG WINDS AND THE EXTREME HEAT. THE WAX IS REMOVABLE AND REUSABLE, JUST LIKE ADVERTISED. IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT OF RUBBING WITH A CLOTH TO REMOVE THE EXCESS WAX FROM THE WOOD. BUT, IT DOES COME OFF AND IT DOES NOT LEAVE ANY MARKS OR DISCOLORATION ON THE WOOD. I LEARNED ABOUT THIS PRODUCT FROM ANOTHER ARTIST WHEN I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO DISPLAY ANYTHING AT HOME BECAUSE OF MY CATS. HE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS PRODUCT, AND I CAN SAFELY DISPLAY FRAGILE PIECES EVEN IN A HOUSE FULL OF CATS! IT IS A GREAT ITEM FOR THE PRICE!
