Pros - Very strong bond
Cons - Somewhat messy to work with, very messy to remove
Bottom Line: Museum Wax is great stuff when you want something that is nearly permanent and can still be removed, with a bit of work, on the right kind of surfaces. Otherwise, the additional holding power, over putty, was not worth the additional mess I prefer using the Museum Putty.
BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews, accompanied by detailed videos, can take the place of first-hand experiences that are often lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've gotten from other reviewers and try to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and the video at least entertaining. If there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.
Quick tip: Use dental floss to separate the object from the pedestal when it has to be removed before trying to pick up the object.
For the people who couldn't get this stuff to work, either they were using too little or much, not correctly adhering it to the surfaces, or had unrealistic expectations for its hold ability. Everything I have used it on has held with no problems.
Definitely keeps things in their place. Smart buy!
