I'd like to thank the geniuses at Quaker Oats for taking the boxes of Banana Bread oatmeal out of production. We loved it. We were going thru a 1 1/2 boxes of it a week here in our house. And now that it's no longer offered we buy zip, zero, 0, none, null set boxes of oatmeal. (We're not interested in buying the variety box and tossing out most of the contents)
But thanks to the geniuses at Quaker Oats we eat Pop-Tarts and dry cereals.
Banana Bread oatmeal was part of a diet that helped me lose 30 pounds in three months. (but they won't have to worry about me making such a claim again)
One last time, thank you Quaker Oats for listening to a spreadsheet instead of your customers.

I haven't been able to find the Weight Control Oatmeal in the stores for over a month, so I was thrilled that Amazon offers it at a great price!

For those of you who haven't tried it, it's EXCELLENT! Fresh banana taste that warms your bones!

I was thrilled to find this flavor available at amazon. I had not seen it in the grocery stores for a while so I called Quaker and was told they would no longer be packaging the Banana Bread flavor alone. It would only be available as part of a variety pack. This, of course, is the only flavor my husband likes, so I'll buy it from amazon until it's all gone. :-)

I think this is the best oatmeal ever and is getting hard to find in the stores in my area. I think it has a true banana taste which is hard to pull off. It is filling and a healthy choice and I hope Quaker continues to make this flavor.

Like several others, I was devastated when I no longer could find the original Banana Bread Instant Oatmeal. I cannot believe that it was not selling well. How much do you have to sell to call it a success? Quaker had a product that was so much healthier than the sugared cereals that too many parents buy their kids, and they take away a very healthful cereal - one that a person will almost surely like immediately. You could also add healthy fruits to it and make it an even better product for breakfast, for kids and adults.

From someone who cannot eat cinnamon, just think of how many other cereals from Quaker have cinnamon in them! I have a serious illness and this is one of the very few things I can eat. I need this cereal. I hate buying a variety pack and thowing away most of it, but I have been doing that to get the 2 packets of Banana Bread cereal. I'll have to stop that however, since it is too expensive to continue buying it that way. EDITED on SEPTEMBER 16 2011- I have stopped buying the variety pack, or anything else Quaker if I can avoid it at all. I still have so much touble finding something I can eat that is healthy for me, that tastes good and that is easily digestible.

Also, have you noticed that those two packets of Banana Bread Instant Oatmeal do not taste like the original? They are not very good at all. Quaker changed the ingredients somehow, and either thought we could not tell the difference, or didn't care what we thought. But it is definitely different from the original, when it comes to taste. There is also less of it, since I used the same bowl for the original and for these wth the two packets, and I can tell by the amount it makes. What a ripoff they are pulling on the customer!

I have been using regularly the Quaker Oats "Lower Sugar" line for several years and loved the convenience and taste, but was not thrilled with the nutritional characteristics of the product. A few months ago I became aware of the "Weight Control" line, and gave it a try. Initially, I was uncertain about the different texture -- it is stickier probably due to the addition of whey to boost the protein content -- but after 3 or so days the texture didn't bother me. I really like the better nutritional underpinning of this product, i.e. very little sugar, more fiber, and a lot more protein, which means it satisfies my appetite through the morning until lunch time! My personal preference is for the Banana Bread flavor over the others. Often I will take a small baggie of berries or even sliced bananas to mix in with the oatmeal after I've completed microwaving it. I enjoy this every morning at the office, and occasionally at home on the weekends.

I absolutely LOVE this oatmeal. I have no idea who can possibly feel full from one regular packet of oatmeal. However, the weight control oatmeals are quite filling... and very delicious. The banana bread is my favorte flavor and like other reviewers, I couldn't find the one-flavor box anywhere. They were available all over up until a few years ago and they suddenly disappeared. I decided to write to Quaker and they actually responded and told me all the local supermarkets that sold the single-box banana bread flavor in the past month. Turns out there is ONE supermarket (a Price Chopper) in my entire county that has it. I have since stock-piled 6 boxes in my house. Try contacting the company. Don't pay the ridiculous price asked for on Amazon!!

My wife loves this banana bread flavor of weight control oatmeal. It is impossible to find in a non-variety pack. Our local supermarket used to carry just boxes of weight control banana bread but now it is only available in the weight control variety pack. Amazon is about the only place I could find just the boxes of only banana bread weight control and I'm not sure how much longer it will be available on here as I heard quaker oats is discontinuing the banana bread only box. Great oatmeal!
