5.0 out of 5 stars Adjustable Roof Jacks
Most of the houses that we build have a 12-12 roof. I can't tell you how nice it is to stand on a 2x10 plank.I would be lost without my adj.roof jacks, they take up less room when they are being stored, I have some of the fixed jacks they are in my shop collecting dust. A fine product you can't go wrong.

3.0 out of 5 stars An inexpensive solution to a steep roof job.
These are rather basic brackets although they are adjustable. Finish is nothing special and probably dunked in paint and sent through a dryer. Hinge is painted shut when received but breaks free for job setup. Worked very well and held a treated 2 x 10 securely to serve as a solid platform.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only safe way to shingle a steep roof., September 30, 2008

My wife and I are building our own home without contractors. The roof has a 12/12 pitch. I would not have been able to shingle it (24 squares!) without these roof jacks. Remember you'll need a few of them. You have to keep the lower levels so you can climb to the next level(s). You also need the lower levels to stand on to build or remove the upper level. They should be spaced no more than 8 feet horizontally. I went 10 feet with no problem. Get the wide size. You'll appreciate the extra width to place tools and shingles. I used a 2x8 and a 2x4. It was too hard to handle a 2x12.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for steep roofs., July 24, 2006

I just finished reroofing my house and I used 8 of these brackets on my 12/12, 15 square roof. They are easy to install and remove, and take up little space when folded for storage. I also used a ladder in between levels of planks to minimize the number of jacks I had to install. These are cheap and make roofing so much easier. The adjustibility is also nice. Highly recommended.

I used these brackets to make a platform that I could use for housepainting. They worked great! I wish I would have discovered these devices earlier in my home repair career.

Cheaper than my local roofing yard, adjustable, and made me feel comfortable walking on my steep roof. What more could you want from a piece of metal? I'd recommend these if you are going to roof

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep it safe on the roof, August 31, 2010
This review is from: Qualcraft 2500Q Adjustable Roofing Bracket (Tools & Home Improvement)
What do you want? It is a very stable and nicely adjustable staging bracket. I love to be able to stage my material and know that should a slide occur there is a breakpoint before the eave. Can be installed under existing shingles or on bare decking as you are working your way up the roof. Very, very stable and easy to adjust. But at with all Qual-Craft products, they rust quickly. So keep em dry or learn to love rust.

Re-roofed our cabin in cedar shingles and needed to use roofing brackets for the first time. Followed some on-line instructions about securing them to rafters below and everything went without a hitch. Used 12" boards in the brackets - comfortable, safe and made the job move quickly. Removal was a breeze!
