Creswell is truly an expert on qualitative inquiry, evidenced by his ability to break down the information into concepts that are easy to digest. I am beginning to draft the research proposal for my dissertation (PhD in Psychology), and this book has been a tremendous help in selecting the methodology that best fits my research problem. If you are just beginning your dissertation or if you need scientific guidelines to stay on track, this book is well worth the reasonable price.

I was looking for a book that can teach me to develop a qualitative study completely. This book presents five qualitative approaches available, how to use it, when to use it and how to combine each method or approach. In my view this is the most comprehensive and practical book in qualitative research in the last ten years.

Plainly written and up to date textbook! I am a doctoral student who is also teaching at the master's level. This book not only helps me understand my options for research but has helped me clarify the subtle distinctions between approaches to qualitative research.

With examples and ample references, this book should be on every qualitative social sciences researcher's shelf!

This is as succinct a review for qualitative reserach as I have ever read in my limited experience. I recommend this book to all doctoral students and researchers who need to brush up on qualitative techniques.

This book is helpful in explaining the different approaches to qualitative methods. The comparison charts in the book helps you to compare and contrast against the methods and helps in choosing a method to undertake your research study.

For an academic text on Qualitative Research, the book is surprisingly easy reading and is user friendly. It is informative, concepts are clearly explained, and the chapters are organised for maximum accessibility with discussion questions, additional notes, summary, tables and visual representations. Overall, Creswell provides structured guidance to help the reader understand and use each of the five approaches, and the templates for data analysis, plan for qualitative inquiry and guided activities are particularly helpful.Thumbs up!

Creswell's text is the ONE for anyone new to qualitative research. He methodically takes the readers through an exploration of the 5 most common approaches to qual. research and breaks the information down into a "how to" discussion. Well worth the price and then some!

Creswell takes great care to make the five qualitative approaches to research comprehensive and manageable. I have studied this book and it has helped me understand the five approaches immensely.

As a novice researcher, this was an extremely informative and helpful book. I would definitely recommend it. It is far more readable than other comparable texts.
