Before you purchase "Qualitative Research: Analysis Types and Software Tools" by Renata Tesch, be aware that this was written in 1990 and the "software tools" portion of the text is very much out of date.

Our company, Researchware, had the pleasure of working with Renata Tesch in those early days when qualitative data analysis software (including our "HyperRESEARCH" software, which debuted commercially in 1991) was getting its start. She was a wonderful person and at the top of her field.

So this is a great book if you want a historical perspective of qualitative research methods and the use of software before software tools designed specifically for aiding in qualitative analysis of text (and, later, of multimedia) were widely available. But it won't tell you anything about the tools that are available now, 20+ years later.
