This CD is WONDERFUL! I have worked directly with David at his Nashville New Music Conference and he is a wealth of knowledge, experience and success.
He does a great job of sharing his concepts by presenting the information clearly, positively, and in an approachable format.
The CD helped me to discover new avenues for furthering my career through great ideas like building a support team to help me to promote my music.
It's worth it :)

Boy if you dont read this book and listen to this CD at least once a month you will be an also ran in the race for music career success - this guy gets it.

Listen, read and learn you will be a better artist for it.

This is a must have for amateurs AND professionals! David urges us to take off the blinders and see the true state of this industry. The day after reading "14 Qualities", I walked into a wine/cofee bar and scored a $300 gig for this coming Sunday! As an independant artist, I'm starting to realize that I must create opportunities every day....This book must be kept close by for reference, it just has TOO much great info for me to digest at once! David takes it to the streets with specific ways to reach your goals, his advice is universal and works for anyone. Thanks for getting me off the couch!

This is the first time I have listened to David. There is only meat on this CD. He is straight up and cuts to the chase. I have been in this business as a performer and writer for a long time and you see all kinds of things to lure people in. David has a direct, honest approach that rings true with facts and doesn't gloss over that it takes consistant hard work to be a success and it can be done. His experience shows us some things work and some things don't....SO QUIT DOING THE STUFF THAT DOESN'T WORK! I love the fact that I can have a guy like him in my corner, by playing the CD and looking for more of his words of wisdom. He knows you can do it and he'll show you how.

Dave Hooper is a dedicated guy. He won't tell you about chord progressions or that certain music geat is good even if those things are sometimes important. Dave is different - he has identified 14 qualities of successful musicians and we could all benefit from his advice. I'm starting a new record label very soon so this information timely and i'm dedicated to following his great advice in my plans. Worth it!

The CD is divided into 14 sections, each one laying out a "success quality" using practical advice and real-life examples. It's good for priming your mind to revitalize your career.

I really appreciate the way Dave continues to help the indie community. What most impresses me is the fact that he actually wants you to participate with the audio track. The most incredible thing is that you know that he is actually trying to help with his advice.

Targetting the proper market

Believing in yourself and balancing friends and family that are non supporters.

Not only targetting musicians but also business people in the industry that aren't artists.

I really appreciated the alternative methods of promotion like self mailers.

All in all i actually listened to the whole audio and at the end wanted more. Just like a great artist blows you away on stage Dave is able to get the same feeling with his art of advice and captivating his audience with his spirited and truly helpful commentary

I found myself laughing and cheering along with this CD: so many of the ideas presented have found their way to me before...but they've come little by little, after years of searching and seeking. This CD book is a shortcut, an ample guide of what it takes to make a living (not super-stardom) in the music business.

Many of us talented musicians are often mystified by why our talent doesn't get us further in business- this CD explains why. However, you may need to reconsider your goals before you can apply these ideas: the music business is forever and constantly changing and those musicians who can adapt and flow with it will survive. Think of it this way: you don't need to become rich, you just have to make what you make at your day job to be successful as a musician.
