My adapter did not match picture, it's actually better. Its pieces and original equipment are interchangeable and the tip has a 90 degree angle.

Plugged it in and my 1000HE started charging.

The power brick's LED is green.

I've only had it a few days, will edit review if there's anything to update about reliability.

A wire in the cable broke near the connector. Charging is possible only if the computer's position does not change. I am looking for a replacement now.

Just got it last night as a replacement for Asus Eee 1000HE.
First impressions:
Great price - hope it works safely.
I was relieved to see that in shape and form it matches the original. (the photo on Amazon is wrong) It has the standard 2-prong 8-shaped AC cord(standard cassette player type power plug you can get for under a buck in any country you go to, or borrow) albeit the cable has a flimsier feel than the original and the 90 degree angle plug into the computer was a nice touch too.(will add actual photos later) Let's hope it outlasts the original.
I use the netbook mainly for traveling. I don't like to worry about plug adapters or expensive 3-contact cables, so the "8-shaped" cord is perfect.
Looking at the label it says 12V 3A. There is no UL or TUV or other similar label on it, so I didn't dare to plug it in overnight, should it catch on fire. Not that it necessarily would, but it would have been one less thing to worry about. I will plug it in when I have some time to monitor it under full stress (long period of high processor activity WHILE charging an empty battery on either voltage). Let's hope it passes I will post an update with the result. Until we see it work OK rating is only 2 stars based on low price, similarity to original (misleading photo) and more importantly no Underwriters Laboratories (or similar) seal of approval. Will update later.

My original power adapter quit working. I bought this unit and happily use it every day. Works great.

This adapter literally melted and completely stopped working after six months of light use. I do not recommend this product.

Bought this to replace my original Asus 1000HE netbook charger after I left it in Las Vegas! Have had trouble with it from the beginning (3 months ago). Doesn't plug into the netbook securely. I have to continually reposition the cord to the charge mode. It flips back and forth from battery mode to charge mode. I'm so frustrated!

This adapter came to me in good shape and worked great for a about two weeks. Now it no longer works at all and I'm left using the same broken charger I had before. But at least my old charger gets the job done.

It's nice and thin, but don't buy it. I used it every weekday and then the light started flickering and it died thereafter. Lasted less than 60 days. Spend a little more money and buy this one: [...]. Although three-pronged, the wire and adapter are thicker and more sturdier. Plus it actually comes in a real package by laptopmate, and not in an unmarked clear plastic bag.

This saved my life. I wasn't sure if the problem was in my netbook or with the power adapter. It apparently was just the power adapter and I'm back in business!!!! and the price!!! wow..

When I first received this adapter, I thought it was dead on arrival, however, when I switched out the non-adapter side of the cable (I figured it was just a dud for some reason), the light turned on and my ASUS 1002HA was receiving power. Unfortunately, the next time I plugged it in and all subsequent times, it was complete toast; the light on the adapter wouldn't even turn on. I know the problem is not from my outlets, which are all correctly grounded, functional, etc, or from my battery, which was removed during my testing of the cord as I figured the problem might be something with my battery. Huge disappointment. Not sure if it says this in the description and I don't really care so it's not a big deal, but be aware that the charger sent may not match the one pictured in terms of looks even though it may in terms of voltage/etc; mine didn't.
