This is a vocal album and the singer is Brazilian crooner Carlos Fernando whose performances are distinguishly cool. He was the lead vocalist of a well succeeded Brazilian jazz combo named "Nouvelle Cousine" which does not exist anymore. He worked very well as a jazz singer in the combo.

If you take cool performances by Abbey Lincoln as a parameter, you'll know how cool Carlos Fernando sings. The trouble with it is that it hardly fits Brazilian material. So that Carlos Fernando takes each song and remakes it his way with good and bad results.

Toninho Horta is brilliant as usual.
Recommended for singers as a master voice, technique, and phrasing. All sung in Portuguese.
