5.0 out of 5 stars Tremendous Talent Overlooked in USA
This was the first JJ Goldman album I ever heard and I was hooked when I heard the song 'Comme Toi'---poignant, evocative and whenever I hear it, I am in an attic room on a rainy Paris afternoon, looking out over the rooftops. He collaborates with many artists in many genres on some of his other albums. He wrote Celine Dion's breakout hit in Canada, which remains the...

3.0 out of 5 stars I love "comme toi" song
I bougth this CD because of "comme toi" song, it seems to me a remarcable song from him (even if the same JJ Goldman said in an interview it could run better) and one of my favorites from any artist. But, for me, this CD begins and finishes in that song. The other ones are just the other ones. I don't find any more to say about them. Those songs are not bad, you can play...

He wrote Celine Dion's breakout hit in Canada, which remains the biggest selling album in France to date, some 600,000 copies to date.
His music on this quintessential JJG is rockin' while being deeply soulful, joyful and playful all at the same time. If you want to hear a genius, listen to this album---you won't be disappointed. Even though his one tour of the US (in the early '90's) was woefully under(non?) promoted, he still gave an ''all stops pulled out" show. Like the performance on this album, all stops are out, but you'll have to pay attention. And then, you won't be able to quit playing it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album marked new era of rock singers in France, April 25, 2005

Not only is this probably one of JJ Goldman's best albums, imaginative, romantic while also musically varied, but it also marked a turn in the way French artists approached rock music in the 80's. With JJ Goldman, it became OK to be a rock artist while also paying considerable attention to both melody and lyrics, while still retaining the rock "attitude".
This is my favorite JJ Goldman's album to this day.

3.0 out of 5 stars I love "comme toi" song, September 27, 2006

I bougth this CD because of "comme toi" song, it seems to me a remarcable song from him (even if the same JJ Goldman said in an interview it could run better) and one of my favorites from any artist. But, for me, this CD begins and finishes in that song. The other ones are just the other ones. I don't find any more to say about them. Those songs are not bad, you can play them since you are doing anything else, even taking a good conversation. If you ask me if I'd buy this CD again after i have listened to the whole CD, I'd answer you "yes", but just because I love "comme toi" ....
