I am a frequent canker core sufferer, and have a bottle of orajel/anbesol in every purse as a result. As anyone who suffers from canker sores knows, they provide VERY temporary relief, forget about if you are trying to eat or drink anything (and it makes everything taste nasty to boot).

I thought I would give these a try, because during a particularly bad canker sore I was getting desperate. The first time I put it on backwards (it's hard to tell which side is which unless you have very good lighting), and surprisingly it gave a little relief. When I put it on the right way, though, my pain was totally gone and I could eat or drink anything, even canker sore horrors like pineapple, without pain. This thing is a miracle. And unlike some people who said it didn't last 8 hours, mine didn't go away for more than 24 hours; I eventually had to peel it off.

The reason it gets 4 stars is because it's kind of ugly. My canker sore happened to be right below my bottom front teeth, and it forms a sort of gel that makes it look like I ate a lot of cheese and haven't brushed my bottom teeth in weeks. If it's in the back it probably doesn't matter, but I wouldn't wear this before a first date unless you want to look like you live in the woods.

The important thing, though, is that it WORKS!

PROs: The product does take away the intense pain. The minty flavor doesn't make me as nauseated as the licorice flavor of Canker Melts

CONs: Because the Canker Cover is shaped like a thick tablet, I don't see how it is possible to use this product on mouth ulcers that are between the front lips and the teeth or on the tongue-- I tested it. You certainly can't talk or go out in public with this gooey, thick disk sticking to these areas. It may be different if the ulcer was located on the inside of the cheek. As far as removal, I agree with some of the other Amazon customers-- you definitely have to remove some of the goo that has been left over from night-time use--but be CAREFUL, removing down to the mucosa does cause abrasion.

End Comments: This patch should be reformulated to be MUCH thinner for easier use.

Only those who have suffered from canker sores would know the pain and trauma associated with these sores. I get canker sores that last approximately 14 days. Pain! I found Canker Cover after searching the net for relief.

A few minutes after application of Canker cover on a full blown sore, my pain was gone. Three days later the sore had disappeared completely.

Canker Cover is a medical breakthrough which deserves a Nobel Prize!
