This could be a useable product if you study it out enough to make coherent melodic lines. You just have to find notes/pitches that work together. I have several PLAY libraries, and besides the confusing, troublesome, time consuming installation process and problems that show up later, my biggest gripe is that too many sound patches have incoherent keys. You try to play a melody and different notes sound incongruent, like you're playing different articulations or mic positions, EQ settings, or instruments. The samples that are triggered in some patches are poorly thought out and simply don't work together. There are also strange, foreign noises in too many of their samples, which makes those notes unusable. That is just plain sloppy and unprofessional.
I think the idea and original work they put into this package was great, but at some point in the production they dropped the ball, maybe to get it out faster. I got this library in a package deal, but I would have wanted my money back had I paid full price. I have spent my time so far trying to get the PLAY engine installed or reinstalled or updated and configured correctly. I hope someday I have the time to use it. I have never had this much problem with any plug-in so far [and I have a LOT of plug-ins]. I'm tired. If I ever get my PLAY libraries working even partially again, I'm swearing off any updates. It isn't worth the time and problems.

This is a great product in itself. The sound quality is incredible, and in the right hands can sound like production, studio recorded music. However, never order any East West/Quantum Leap products direct from them. Their website and ordering process is horrible!!! After ordering the main package from Amazon I ordered some packs from East West on their website SoundsOnline.com and got screwed. After a month and a half, a support ticket that was ignored and then closed, a phone call after digging through their forum to find a phone number, and a direct email they have yet to actually charge my account. I have never had it so hard to get someone to take my money. Apparently their billing is manual. They don't take advantage of proper automated billing like any other REPUTABLE online company, they don't provide an easily found phone number, they ignore their problem tickets, and their website in general is very poor once you get past their general information. I have never dealt with a worse company, which is a real shame given the quality of their product.

I have been using this software for several years now in my production studio. I like it very much however there are only 5 different female vocals to work with. There should be a lot more in my opinion at this price point. If i had realized there were only 5 variations of female vocal material to work with, i probably would not have bought this. Its a great idea and the vocals that are here are good quality and great to work with but are simply too few to make it really worthwhile. The software is very capable of helping you to create some sublime female vocal parts that are quite unique. It just needs more than five in my opinion.
