Product Description

8 Compact Discs and Workbook You'll learn to remember names, faces, numbers, birthdays, dates, appointments, or any sequence of numbers you want. My memory is a trained memory. I was definitely not born with a special gift for memorizing vast amounts of information. Yes, I am the current and seven times World Memory Champion, and I am in the record books for memorizing 40 decks of playing cards after a single sighting of each card. I can memorize a random sequence of 2000 numbers in less than an hour and I appear regularly on television memorizing anything from shopping lists to the entire audience of names and faces. The techniques, the systems and strategies that I am going to reveal, I believe they are the most powerful in the world and I challenge anyone to develop something more powerful.

1.0 out of 5 stars The world memory championships are a FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!, November 3, 2009
The only thing you'll remember if you buy this book is how this guy ripped you off. All these memory courses are the same, except this one is the worst. Big STINKO!! Dominic constantly recounts anecdotes about his super memory moments, and any substance is given in small bits and pieces, few and far between. THE WORLD MEMORY CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE A FRAUD, AND EVEN IF THEY WERE TRUE (WHICH THEY ARE NOT) THEY WOULD NOT PROVE ANYTHING BUT STUPIDITY. REMEMBERING AND RAMBLING A LONG SET OF INTERGERS IS INSANE. YOU HAVE BEEN CONNED YOU IDIOT.

People looking to buy this book want to learn specific principles that allow you to memorize a lot of stuff quickly. What you learn, in between Dominic's idiotic anecdotes, is to do stuff like think of a story abut something you want to remember. So if you want to remember a guy named Baker - guess what you think of - a guy with a big white baker's hat on. - if you want to remember a chick named Jane Whitehead - think of the Bride of Frankenstein with white streaks in her hair - if you want to remember a dude named Pin - guess what? Think of Pinhead. If you want to remeber a cat named Black-da, guess what, think of Mr. Black Cat. - THESE ARE REAL EXAMPLES FROM THE BOOK.

The world memory championships are an Idiot Savant type contest in which the applicants recite Pi to hundreds of decimal places. What does this prove??? Memory, intelligence, learning ability? What it proves is stupidity.

A.C. Aitken of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland memorized Pi to 100,000 decimals. How did he do it?

The Litany or Verse Mnemonic Strategy. For example:

I wish I could remember pi.
"Eureka," cried the great inventor,
"Christmas pudding, Christmas pie,
Is the problem's very center."
Etc., etc., etc.

Just count the number of letters in each word:
Pie=3
I=1
wish=4, etc., etc., etc.
You will get Pi to 100,000 decimals.
3.14158265358979323846 etc., etc., etc.

There are a few other silly tips which are just as useless. If you want to learn these tips - which are of no value anyway - go to the library and get any memory book and you'll get the same info. Forget about this guy. HE IS AWFUL. If you want to make sure to remember my advice: imagine the name of this book in a toilet bowl, and imagine it spinning around, and around, and around the bowl as you flush it repeatedly and angrily because you can't get your money back for buying such a stinking book.
