This was a Christmas present for my husband from our three grandchildren. He was so excited to get it because salmon fishing was soon beginning. Needless to say that upon further investigation, he found there was no handle on the reel. Not to easy to fish when a bite is on and you can't reel in your catch! While I got excellent customer service from the Amazon people I would not recommend this product.

Gone out a few times with this rod and reel, and it works great. It was a gift from my aunt, but I'd probably buy the same one again. No need for a fancier system unless you're going fishing every day. To get someone started, there are a couple $7 plastic worm kits on amazon which are all that's needed. I'd recommend high quality line though.
