Reinventing the Qabala, July 1, 2007
This review is from: Quantum Qabala (Paperback)
At first, I wasn't going to read this book. Here was someone who I thought was out to improve or even replace the Tree of Life used for centuries if not millenia with what his ads called Tree of Life 2.0. "Look, my tree has twelve sephiroth!" he seemed to say. Then, my friend read it and suggested that wasn't the case at all. The first thing you read in this book is a dedication to all traditional kabbalists and mystical qabalists that apologizes for this work. I don't know if this is sincere or if its a tongue-in-cheek apology aimed at the reactions of people like me who like to stick to the tried and true. It doesn't really matter since the book is good. It isn't made to replace anything or be better than anything. Instead, the tree of life presented here is a diagram of the inner worlds and not a new map of emanation of the outer worlds, though the connection between both becomes obvious. He demonstrates how the astrological bodies such as the Mind, Mars, Venus, etc. are present within our souls as its parts. Mercury is our Lower Mind, Jupiter the Higher Mind. Mars is the Ego. Venus the libido. He suggests that we must balance all these parts of our soul in order to be whole beings and to balance our lives. This isn't some pie in the sky thing like the Secret where all you want will come true. Instead, he warns that you could go through some hard times when creating a more balanced reality through the rituals of Quantum Qabala, but that is only because you will be shedding those parts of your life that were keeping your from this balance. They change the elements present within you and this changes your environment and your life. I have been trying these rituals because they are very similar to the Golden Dawn rituals I've always done and I've noticed that I have had more money lately. I didn't know why at first because it's not like money suddenly started appearing out of nowhere like the Secret promises. My wife told me that I have seemed quite a bit more practical. I used to go out and buy music equipment and all this other stuff I didn't really need or want just on whims. Then when bills came, I would always be short. Now, I don't feel that need. I feel more grounded and stable, especially with my money. Maybe I am just getting more mature or maybe this is the balance Quantum Qabala brought to me. I am not going to call it a coincidence. I am going to see what else it can do.

A missing link in magic, May 25, 2009
This review is from: Quantum Qabala (Paperback)
Quantum Qabala has explained some aspects about magic that I did not even know I didn't understand. What is the function of a wet element as compared to a dry one? What is the significance of certain gestures and names used in Qabalistic ritual? Perhaps some of this information is taught in the inner circles of certain magical orders, but I am not a member of any group, so this information was new to me. You do have to know a bit about the Qabalah, Tarot and astrology to understand this book, and the author says so, as well. It will also help if you know a bit about Egyptian ritual and beliefs because Eric Orion uses a lot of Egyptian terminology and beliefs. He pays a lot of attention to the Aten of Akhenaton, considered to be the world's first monotheistic deity. Don't let this turn you off if you are Pagan, however, because he stresses that the Aten is the All, the Tao, Brahmin, the unity of everything. All the deities of the world are found upon the Tree of Life 2.0. As far as the rituals go, they have an effect on your life. I have felt more in tune with the angelic forces in my life, like they are paying much more attention to me, but I know it is actually that I am finally coming to know them. And the ecstacy you feel when the Limitless Light comes down...what can I say. When you work with Divine forces, you change from within and this changes that which is without. My life has changed because of Quantum Qabala. I seem to feel protected, watched over, helped. I no longer have worries, doubts. I have gained confidence in life beccause I know, through the findings of quantum physics, that this reality is an illusion able to be shaped by the mind. I may not be able to have complete control over it, but I can control a lot of my life and the things I can't control, I can view from a higher perspective and understand why things are the way they are. And this brings me happiness, no matter what.

Heavy on Astrology and Weak on Qabala, November 23, 2006
This review is from: Quantum Qabala (Paperback)
Heavy on astrology and weak on Qabala and quantum theory, this book is convoluted and misinformed. It is a garish mistake to apply astrology, a solar system based discipline to Qabala, a universe based discipline. His knowledge of quantum physics is superficial and poorly researched. His knowledge of Qabala is even more scanty as it does not deal with the building up of resistence (formation of shells) that is unique and central to the understanding of Qabala. As a useful source for the working of practical magick, I suppose interesting things can happen to the practioners as, according to Crowley, the workings of magick are exercised in the imagination. While the book is certainly imaginative, it has little or nothing to do with the Qabala or quantum physics.
