QUARANTINE: A RETRO CLASSIC.,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Quarantine (CD-ROM)
I discovered this game back in 1993/94, and I can remember wasting a lot of hours playing it with my brother, taking turns at picking up the strange inhabitants of Kemo City. Its got a lot of character, the graphics are reasonably old school, lots of pixel-art and Paralax Scrolling. Another great feature was the SOUNDTRACK which you could also play like a regular CD album (Not with this Discette version i guess :D ) and it featured a lot of obscure bands with a sort of punky, soft-rock, grungy sound. Someone should definately do an exiting new remake of this title, so long as they get that same gloomy, trippy atmosphere, and all those other nuancess that make Quarantine a classic game in the eyes of so many people. SMASH THE AUTHORITY, DOWN WITH KEMO CITY, HAIL THE NEW FLESH! Nice one GAMETEK!

A killer of a game,

Literally speaking. Drive your cab and make money. Kill mutants and destroy everything in sight and take part in the resistance against Omnicorp, the cyberpunk corporation which runs the quarantined city.
It is not Blade Runner, it is not Escape from New York, it is not Mad Max. It is something in between. Must not forget to mention the incredible soundtrack which features some the best australian grunge and hardrock bands from the early 90s, like You Am I and Screamfeeder.
