Fast service, good quality.

It is a lot thinner than the other military grade canteens I own it is more like a toy canteen you would expect to come with a cheap halloween costume.

This is exactly what I wanted, a G.I. Military style canteen.

I immediately filled my canteen with water because people stated it leaked... Held it upside down... Nothing... Squeezed.... Leaked! OMG... Tightened cap... No more leak... Love this canteen!

Knew it wouldn't be heavy duty for the price, but I did expect it to actually hold water. And it does, if you don't turn it upside down. I tried several careful cap screw-ons, to make sure I wasn't mis-threading it, but no, every time I held it upside down and shook, it dribbled water out. If you just need something that will mostly hold water for a day outing or to carry water out to the plants or something and you can keep it in the upright position all the time, it'll get you by. But for any kind of use where it gets stowed in a bag and jostled around, this isn't it. Even for a low price, something described as a canteen should be water tight.

Update: am going to try the #19 o-ring fix another reviewer mentioned. Will try to update again on how that works out.

Update2: Decided just to go with a small Klean Canteen instead.Green Canteen Stainless Steel 25-Ounce Sports and Hydration Water Bottle, Silver and Blue, 2-Pack

This is just your basic, everyday, plastic military style canteen. It is lacking the straw hole for the gas mask which was a bit disappointing. However, I got what I wanted and I got what I paid for. I would suggest this product to anyone.

This is a simple no frills canteen. There is no gasket in the cap so it's a plastic on plastic seal. When filled with water the canteen did not leak when turned upside down. However, giving the rigid plastic a heathy squeeze did cause some water to drip out the cap. Not a big deal since that was a stress test. The unit is lightweight as you would expect a plastic canteen to be. The plastic odor fresh out ot the box was low and after washing, I could not detect any "plastic" after-taste in the water. A good find.

This is a hard plastic on hard plastic seal. I have strong hands and tightened it as hard as I could, and it leaks--pretty badly. Ridiculous. It may not leak if I can find a rubber gasket for it, but most folks aren't going to want to do that. Avoid it.

First of all...yes it does leak. Garbage if you ask me. You shouldn't have to modify anything that's new. It's super thin compared to canteens I've used/had before. I'd like to fill it with sand and chuck it at the seller's head. This is absolute garbage my friend. AIRBORNE!

Was hoping this would be the same as the standard issue canteen I lost but instead its made of a good deal thinner plastic and is much less heavy duty.

If you need a military looking bottle for show, then this canteen will do. But, if you want to take it outdoors where it will get shaken and squeezed, it will leak all over your gear. Cap doesn't hold any pressure.
