Quartet: W. Somerset Maugham Tales on Film, July 30, 2011
This review is from: Quartet: Four Classic Tales by W. Somerset Maugham (VHS Tape)
Some people dismiss the works of W. Somerset Maugham out of hand as the product of a degenerate class or age. The realism of his stories can cause discomfort. But no one can deny that he is a master of the short story. Here are four good ones in movie form and a rare film appearance by the author himself. I couldn't pass it up.

If you like old, but still great, movies, this is one for you. There is a personal interview with Maugham himself that makes it even more worthwhile.
