I bought this Quartet Magnetic Dry-Erase Board Tile (85401) mostly for the magnetic properties. I attached it to the back wall of my desk hutch, so I could post small notes, etc. with magnetic push-pins or clips. It attaches with 4 double-sided, self-stick foam squares that you may place as needed; manufacturer suggests the four corners. The back of the board is thick corrugated cardboard, tucked inside a front metal shell. If you ever want to move the board once attached, the cardboard back will likely just tear off, leaving bits stuck to the 4 pieces of foam. You could attach new foam pieces in a slightly different spot, purchased separately, to reuse the board. The board I received is plain white (not assorted colors or silver). The dry-erase pen is small, held on the side with a clear plastic clip attached to the board. It also has a magnet on the pen cap, but this doesn't hold the pen onto the board very well, as the pen (in cap) is too heavy. The pen seems to write just fine on the board, the cap has a felt eraser, which works fine, too. Doesn't seem to leave ghost images, when erased. Comes with two round button magnets about an inch in diameter. One is slightly defective, but still works. The board has a few small dings on the front, probably due to shipping. I would have liked a slightly longer board with a better way to attach and remove, but otherwise, it is okay. I think it should be cheaper, but I needed something that would fit a certain area, so... Hope this helps you decide!

The board is fine, but the pen included has no ink. I appreciate it when pens include ink, that way I can use them to write. In the current condition, the pen is not able to write because it lacks ink, rendering it nothing more than a conversation piece. We have placed the pen in a small display case on a table near our front door. When people ask about it, I tell them "oh, that's the pen with no ink we got from Amazon. A curiosity."

Honestly, this product is terrible. It's cheap and flimsy enough that the metal came bent and pinched from the shipping. The product is tiny as well. To hang it comes with double sided stick tape...but not the 3M kind you can pull to remove. If I had hung this it would have ripped the paint off my wall when I removed it. It's basically writing on a flattened soda can. No reason to buy this--get a regular whiteboard.

I bought this board because it didn't have any reviews for it and I was seeing that a lot of the dry-erase boards were very flimsy, not lasting long at all. I just got the board yesterday but I really like it! It's a much better quality than I expected, and the mounts go up just fine for the fridge. Other boards that I have gotten were too heavy for these but these seem very sturdy even with opening and closing the fridge. It erases nicely as well, no ghost lines so far, the marker also has an eraser on the cap. The magnets stay up nicely too. It's a great size for a to do list or just some notes that you want everyone to see. It's a great board for the price, I would buy it again in the future!

The board itself is great, but the adhesive squares ripped the paint and plaster off of my walls when I tried taking it down. I am now using Command Damage-Free Picture Hanging Strips instead, which seems to be working well.
