4.0 out of 5 stars Mmmmmm, love it
I don't have the CD, but picked up the LP when I was in Austria a few years back. Since then it's the only record I have listened to, except once I put in the Clash. It's wonderful music, and I'm really glad I picked it up. Very nice if you have a girlfriend into romantic dinners and such. My only complaint is that it's only half an hour long. I could listen to this stuff...

2.0 out of 5 stars Mannered Like Emily Post
I love Milt Jackson, but find this album a little too boring. Unlike his ripping work with Monk or plumbing beauty with MJQ, this album finds him doing standards at a snail's pace. And there's less than 30 minutes of music here anyway, so you're better off looking elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet!, October 1, 2007
This review is from: Quartet (Audio CD)
It's true, as the other reviewers obseved, that this recording is too short but that doesn't mar the fact that this is a real gem! Milt plays brilliantly with all of his heart and he swings like hell on all of the takes. Futhermore, the recording quality is so amazing that you feel that you are there, sitting a few feet away from the vibraphone!

I like this better than any of the MJQ recordings because it's a relaxed session without any of the MJQ pretentiousness and boring John Lewis solos.

Get this CD! You'll love it, especially if you are a Milt Jackson fan!
