5.0 out of 5 stars great album to pay tribute to a great band, November 27, 2003
By Ryan Wood (ElPaso TX, USA) - See all my reviews
when i bought this cd i was so happy. its great. when i listen to it, even though i cant here kurts words i still feel the raw power of nirvana somehow. i think the whole thing was just awsome. even the original that they put on there was cool. kurt cobain was not nirvana. krist, dave, and kurt were nirvana. you can here the music's beauty in songs like "something in the way" and you can still feel the raw edge in songs like "rape me", and "smells like teen spirit". if you are a hardcore nirvana fan who also injoys classical music you should most definately get this cd.i hightly reccommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the secret Nirvana fan still in the Closet..., September 11, 2003
By Rachelle Osborne (East - Ky, USA) - See all my reviews
I am a total Nirvana fan... but, my friends and colleagues, well, not so much. Now, with this CD, it's like having the best of both world's! I can have my dinner parties, and still get away with listening to Nirvana at the same time! It's like classical music set to my favorite tunes! Like Kurt and Bach go head to head or something. I really enjoyed it! If you're a Nirvana fan who is afraid to admit it because you wear a suit and are forced to listen to classical music to keep up appearances, buy this CD now! You will love it... and no one will ever know..... :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars The transition is painless, February 11, 2006
By Gregory A. Janik (Albuquerque NM, Flint MI, or Denver CO - Time of year dependent) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'd recommend this for any rock fan, even those who haven't heard Nirvana. (You probably have and just didn't know who it was.) Nirvana's artistic genius truly shows through this string quartet. Although I'm not ecstatic about Tom Tally's cover of "Something in the Way" it's not something I don't enjoy listening to. Todd Mark Rubenstein, however, does a fantastic job interpreting Nirvana. Or any band I've heard him do so far.

Although at first you may be put off by the idea of hearing your favorite rock in string quartet form, this CD should dispell any doubts. When done well, a string quartet tribute is at least as - if not more - valuable than the original.
